Amit Shah (mayor)
Amit Popatlal Shah is an Indian politician who served as the mayor of the city of Ahmedabad, in the state of Gujarat, India from 23 October 2005 to 23 April 2008. He is affiliated with the BJP. Presently he is president in BJP of Ahmedabad City. After pursuing his LLB from Gujarat Law Society, Shah joined politics. He is municipal Councillor of Vasna. He always won Corporation's election by a large margin. Shah is famous for not accepting MLA's ticket from area called Vejalpur, Ahmedabad which is BJP's seat.. Haren Pandya was the Home Minister of Gujarat in India. He was allegedly murdered in 2003 in Ahmedabad, Gujarat, when he was sitting in his car (the place of his murder is contentious), after a morning walk in the Law Garden area in Ahmedabad. 2007 Gujarat Legislative Assembly Election
Gujarat's twelfth legislative election was held in 2007. In this election, the BJP led by Narendra Modi won 117 seats out of 182 (ten seats fewer than in 2002). Congress improved its performance and won 59 seats (eight more than last election). Modi fought elections in Maninagar and won with a major majority. Rakeshbhai Jasvantlal Shah (born 1 January 1962) is an Indian politician from Gujarat. Currently, he is serving as a Member of Legislative Assembly from Ellisbridge constituency in the Ahmedabad district, Gujarat for its 12th legislative assembly.
