Ellery Eskelin
Ellery Eskelin (born August 16, 1959) is an American tenor saxophonist raised in Baltimore, Maryland and residing in New York City. His parents, Rodd Keith and Bobbie Lee, were both professional musicians. Rodd Keith died in 1974 in Los Angeles, California, and became a cult figure after his death in the little-known field of " song-poem" music. Organist Bobbie Lee performed in local nightclubs in Baltimore in the early 1960s and provided Eskelin an introduction to standards from the Great American Songbook as well as inspiring an early interest in jazz music. Eskelin has resided in New York City since 1983 and has led numerous international touring ensembles while participating as a sideman or collaborator with many of today's most forward-thinking composers and improvisers. Ellery Sprayberry (born October 26, 2000) is an American actress and voice over artist best known for ''Wakefield'', ''Baskets'', ''The Bronze'', and ''The Young and the Restless''. Early life Sprayberry was born and raised in Houston, Texas along with her brother Dylan Sprayberry. She began acting at the age of six after being asked to audition with her brother for commercials and print modeling. Both children relocated to Los Angeles with their parents in 2006 in order to pursue their careers. Ellery Breck Hollingsworth (born September 2, 1991 ) is an American professional snowboarder from Stratton, Vermont. Biography Ellery started snowboarding when she was 6 years old. Ellery is from Darien, CT and a graduate of the Stratton Mountain School where she trained to be a professional snowboarder, and is currently one of the youngest snowboarders competing in international snowboard competitions. Recently, she's made it onto a series of podiums at major events, including a third-place finish at the Tamarack stop of the US Snowboarding Grand Prix, and a third-place finish at the 2007 Burton New Zealand Open Slopestyle event. In September 2009, she was named to the US Snowboarding team and is competing in the US Snowboarding Grand Prix events in order to gain a spot on the 2010 US Winter Olympics team. Ellery Schempp
Ellery Schempp (born Ellory Schempp, August 5, 1940) is an American physicist and the primary student involved in the landmark 1963 United States Supreme Court decision of ''Abington School District v. Schempp'' which declared that required public school sanctioned Bible readings were unconstitutional. Biography Schempp was born in Philadelphia and grew up in the Roslyn community of Abington Township. He graduated from Abington High School in 1958, and attended Tufts University where he earned bachelor degrees in physics and geology. In 1967, Schempp received his Ph.D. in physics from Brown University. In 1977, Schempp was part of the Pittsburgh Explorer’s Group Nanga Parbat Expedition which was to be the first American group to reach the peak of Nanga Parbat in Pakistan. Ellery Queen is a pseudonym created in 1929 by American crime fiction writers Frederic Dannay and Manfred Bennington Lee and the name of their main fictional character, a mystery writer in New York City who helps his police inspector father solve baffling murders. Dannay and Lee wrote most of the more than thirty novels and several short story collections in which Ellery Queen appeared as a character, and their books were among the most popular of American mysteries published between 1929 and 1971. William Ellery Channing
William Ellery Channing (April 7, 1780 – October 2, 1842) was the foremost Unitarian preacher in the United States in the early nineteenth century and, along with Andrews Norton (1786–1853), one of Unitarianism's leading theologians. Channing was known for his articulate and impassioned sermons and public speeches, and as a prominent thinker in the liberal theology of the day. His religion and thought were among the chief influences on the New England Transcendentalists although he never countenanced their views, which he saw as extreme. William Ellery Channing II (November 29, 1817 – December 23, 1901) was an American Transcendentalist poet, nephew and namesake of the Unitarian preacher Dr. William Ellery Channing. His uncle was usually known as "Dr. Channing", while the nephew was commonly called "Ellery Channing", in print. The younger Ellery Channing was thought brilliant but undisciplined by many of his contemporaries. Amos Bronson Alcott famously said of him in 1871, "Whim, thy name is Channing."
