Elizabeth Grant (later Murray) (1745?–1814?) was a Scottish songwriter, from Carron, Speyside. She was married about 1763 to her cousin, Captain James Grant of Carron, near Elchies, on the Spey. Grant being unfortunate, sold Carron in 1786 or 1787 to Robert Grant of Wester Elchies, and in 1790 he died within Holyrood. Mrs. Grant was afterwards married to Dr. Murray, a Bath physician, and she died in Bath about 1814. A portrait of her was at Castle Grant. Elizabeth Grant is a Scottish academic who is an Assistant Principal and Director of the Global Health Academy at the University of Edinburgh She is a researcher and educator in the areas of palliative care compassion and global health and is a Fellow of the Royal Society of Edinburgh and the Royal College of Physicians in Edinburgh and holds a chair in Global Health and Development. International role Grant sits on the Scottish Government NHS Global Citizenship Board which approves strategies and plans that support the policies and priorities set by the Scottish Government's International Development Strategy. Mary Elizabeth Grant AM (born 23 February 1930) is a former Australian pharmacist and politician. Grant was a Liberal member of the Australian Capital Territory House of Assembly for Canberra from 1979 to 1982. Following the loss of her seat she became Chairman of the Australian Capital Territory (ACT) Health Services Council and a member of the Parole Board, serving until 1985 when she was appointed to the Hospital Services Board. From 1986 to 1989 she was President of the ACT Division of Business and Professional Women and in 1987 was Chairman of the ACT Health Authority; in that year she was also appointed a Member of the Order of Australia. Elizabeth Smith (née Elizabeth Grant of Rothiemurchus; 7 May 1797 – 16 November 1885) was a Scottish diarist and lady of the manor of Baltyboys House. Over the course of her life, she lived in Scotland, England, India, Ireland, and France. Life Grant was born in Edinburgh in 1797. Her father was John Peter Grant and Member of Parliament. Her brother, John Peter Grant, Sir John Peter Grant, was the father of Jane Maria Strachey.
