Elisabeth Holm
Elisabeth Holm is an American film producer and screenwriter. She produced the 2014 film ''Obvious Child'' and was formerly the film program director at Kickstarter. Career For three years, Holm was the film program director at the crowdfunding website Kickstarter, a role in which she helped potential filmmakers to source funding for their projects. She was involved in curating films, writing editorials, overseeing events, and liaising with filmmakers who used the website. She helped to organize and host the Kickstarter Film Festival. Holm was an associate producer of '' Paradise Lost 3: Purgatory'' (2011), the third film in a documentary series about the West Memphis Three by Joe Berlinger and Bruce Sinofsky. ''Obvious Child'' is a 2014 American romantic comedy-drama film written and directed by Gillian Robespierre (in her directorial debut) and stars Jenny Slate, Jake Lacy, Gaby Hoffmann and David Cross. The story follows Donna, a stand-up comedian, who has a drunken one-night stand with a man named Max after breaking up with her boyfriend. She subsequently finds out she is pregnant and decides to have an abortion. ''Obvious Child'' originated as a 2009 short film which was written by Robespierre, Anna Bean and Karen Maine, and also starred Slate in the main role. By making the film, Robespierre hoped to remove the stigma surrounding abortion and to correct what she perceived as a misrepresentation of unplanned pregnancy in earlier films. The Academy Award for Best Animated Feature is given each year for animated films. An animated feature is defined by the Academy as a film with a running time of more than 40 minutes in which characters' performances are created using a frame-by-frame technique, a significant number of the major characters are animated, and animation figures in no less than 75 percent of the running time. The Academy Award for Best Animated Feature was first awarded in 2002 for films made in 2001. The entire AMPAS membership has been eligible to choose the winner since the award's inception. If there are sixteen or more films submitted for the category, the winner is voted from a shortlist of five films, which has happened nine times, otherwise there will only be three films on the shortlist. The Gotham Film & Media Institute (also simply the Gotham), formerly known as the Independent Filmmaker Project (IFP), is a membership-based, not-for-profit organization dedicated to independent film.
