Nesian Mystik
Nesian Mystik was a New Zealand Hip hop music, hip-hop/Contemporary R&B, R&B group which formed in 1999. The cultural backgrounds of its members united a remarkable diversity of Polynesia by bringing together Cook Islands, Cook Island, Tongans, Tongan, Samoans, Samoan and Māori people, Maori ancestry. As well as producing a record number of Top 10 New Zealand singles, Nesian Mystik supported international acts such as Robbie Williams, Missy Elliott, Shaggy (musician), Shaggy and The Black Eyed Peas. The group officially disbanded in 2011 after a successful music career that included four commercially successful albums and numerous New Zealand Music Award nominations. History In 1999, Nesian Mystik was formed in the music room of Auckland's Western Springs College. PNC (rapper)
Sam Hansen, better known by his stage name PNC, is a New Zealand hip hop artist and rapper. The name "PNC" is an acronym for Palmerston North City. He attended Awatapu College. PNC first gained underground notoriety performing alongside Breaking Wreckwordz. His unofficial single "Day in the Life" stayed at number one on the Bfm charts for three weeks. He followed that with appearances on P-Money's "321 Remix", "Get Back" and the NZ chart topping "Stop The Music" single from the ''Magic City'' album in 2004. PNC later signed to P-Money's Dirty Records and released his first album, ''Rookie Card'', in 2006. The first two singles, "Bomb!" and "Just Roll", were relatively successful songs in New Zealand. Young Sid
Sidney Diamond (born 7 July 1986), previously known by the stage name Young Sid, is a New Zealand rapper. Biography Sid Diamond was born in South Auckland, New Zealand and later moved to Manukau City, Auckland. He is of Cook Island and Māori descent, and was raised in the Manukau suburb of Ōtara. He used his aunt's address to attend Papatoetoe High School. Diamond's father, Vincent George, was the president of a gang called the Tribesmen, and his mother, Victoria, was an alcoholic who died of lung cancer in 2009. His older brother, Karlos, who is currently imprisoned, was an aspiring rapper under the name Mr Sicc, and a member of an Ōtara gang called Bad Troublesome Ward. At a young age, Diamond was arrested twice for fighting, and carried weapons such as a knife and an axe, but said in a 2009 interview that Karlos worked to prevent him from getting involved with gangs. Che Kuo Eruera Ness (born 1974), better known by his stage name Che Fu, is a New Zealand hip hop, R&B and reggae artist, songwriter and producer. A founding member of the band Supergroove, as a solo artist he has gone on to sell thousands of albums both in New Zealand and internationally. Che Fu is considered a pioneer of Hip hop and Pasifika music in New Zealand. Early life Che Fu was born Che Ness in Auckland. His mother, Miriama Rauhihi Ness is of Māori descent and his father Tigilau Ness is Niuean. Fu's parents are well-known political activists, notably as members of the Polynesian-rights group, the Polynesian Panthers, and founding members of Rastafarian movement '' 12 Tribes of Israel''.
