Geoffrey Stewart (Geoff) Irwin (born 30 March 1948) is an Australian politician. He was a Labor member of the New South Wales Legislative Assembly from 1984 to 1995. Irwin was first elected to state parliament at the 1984 state election as the Labor member for the safe seat of Merrylands. His district was abolished at the 1988 state election, at which point he transferred to the similarly safe seat of Fairfield. The New South Wales Legislative Assembly is the lower of the two houses of the Parliament of New South Wales, an Australian state. The upper house is the New South Wales Legislative Council. Both the Assembly and Council sit at Parliament House in the state capital, Sydney. The Assembly is presided over by the Speaker of the Legislative Assembly.
