''El Asalto'' ("") is a 1960 Argentine black-and-white film crime drama film directed and by Kurt Land. The film was based on a book by Enrique Silberstein and premiered in Buenos Aires. It starred Alberto de Mendoza. Plot A group of mobsters plan a bank heist. But the rehearsal of the robbery is plenty of personal drama, disputes and almost farcical mishaps. Kurt Land
Kurt Landesberger (19 February 1913, Vienna, Austria – 13 July 1997 New York City) was an Austrian born Argentina, Argentine film director of the 1950s and 1960s. Born in Vienna, Land moved to Argentina in the 1930s and began as a film editor, editing for some 20 films in the 1940s. However, by the early 1950s he became interested in directing and directed a number of popular Cinema of Argentina, Argentine films in the 1950s such as the 1955 in film, 1955 film ''Adiós problemas'' starring Enrique Muiño and the 1957 in film, 1957 picture ''Alfonsina (film), Alfonsina'' which starred actress Amelia Bence. He also worked regularly with classic Argentine actress Olga Zubarry. He directed his last film in 1970 in Buenos Aires. He died in New York City in 1997. Mario Lozano (b. 1969/1970) is a United States Army specialist, best known for once being indicted by an Italian court for his role in the death of Italian Secret Service officer Nicola Calipari in a supposed incident on Route Irish, immediately following the Rescue of Giuliana Sgrena. Lozano was not the only American soldier involved in this incident, but received much more attention because he was the one who fired the machine gun killing Calipari. He was assigned to the 1st Battalion of the 69th Infantry Regiment, 42nd Infantry Division of the New York Army National Guard, based in Manhattan. In 2007, a superior Italian court decided that Italy had no jurisdiction in this case—though renewed, this motivation has been since dubbed as wrong by the High Jury Italian court in 2008.
