Eilhard Lubinus
Eilhard Lubinus (23 March 1565 – 2 June 1621) was a German Lutheran theologian and philosopher, also known as a classical scholar, mathematician and cartographer. He was an influence on Comenius. Life His actual name is Eilhard Lübben. Born in Westerstede in 1565, Lubinus was son of a pastor in the Duchy of Oldenburg. He studied at Leipzig and other universities, and in 1595 became Professor of Poetry in the University of Rostock. In 1605 he transferred to the Chair of Theology there. Phillip II of Pomerania in 1610 commissioned him to make a map of Pomerania. He died in 1621 in Rostock. Works Lubinus published works including editions of the ''Epistolae'' of Apollonius, the '' De Vanitate Mundi'' of Bernard, the ''Greek Anthology'' in a literal Latin version, and the ''Epistolae'' of Hippocrates. Eilhard Mitscherlich
Eilhard Mitscherlich (; 7 January 179428 August 1863) was a German chemist, who is perhaps best remembered today for his discovery of the phenomenon of crystallographic isomorphism in 1819. Early life and work Mitscherlich was born at Neuende (now a part of Wilhelmshaven) in the Lordship of Jever, where his father was pastor. His uncle, Christoph Wilhelm Mitscherlich (1760–1854), professor at the University of Göttingen, was in his day a celebrated scholar. Eilhard Mitscherlich was educated at Jever by the historian Friedrich Christoph Schlosser, and in 1811 went to the University of Heidelberg devoting himself to philology, with an emphasis on the Persian language. In 1813 he went to Paris to seek permission to join the embassy which Napoleon I of France was establishing in Persia. Eilhard Ernst Gustav Wiedemann (1 August 1852, in Berlin – 7 January 1928, in Erlangen) was a German physicist and historian of science. He was the son of physicist Gustav Heinrich Wiedemann (1826–1899), and an older brother to Egyptologist Alfred Wiedemann (1856–1936). He studied physics at the Universities of Heidelberg and Leipzig, obtaining his doctorate in 1872 with the thesis "''Über die elliptische Polarisation und ihre Beziehung zu den Oberflächenfarben der Körper'' (On the elliptical polarization of light and its relation to surface color).
