Edwards's Pheasant
Edwards's pheasant (''Lophura edwardsi'') is a bird of the pheasant family Phasianidae and is endemic to the rainforests of Vietnam. It is named after the French ornithologist Alphonse Milne-Edwards and first described to science in 1896. The bird's length is Birdlife International and has red legs and facial skin. The male is mainly blue-black with a crest, and the female is a drab brown bird. The alarm call is a ''puk!-puk!-puk!''. There are two varieties; the nominate form ''L. e. edwardsi'' has a white crest and upper tail, whereas the northern form, usually called Vietnamese pheasant, is found with a variable number of white rectrices. This difference in the two forms may be due to inbreeding of a restricted, fragmented population there, and has also been seen in captive, inbred ''L. edwardsi''. Bojnice Zoo
The Slovak National Zoological Garden ( sk, Národná zoologická záhrada Bojnice) is a zoo in the town of Bojnice, Slovakia. It is the oldest and most visited of Slovak zoos, being established in 1955. Lophura Hatinhensis
The Vietnamese pheasant, or Vietnam fireback, was formerly considered a species of gallopheasant, ''Lophura hatinhensis'', but is now considered a variant of Edward's pheasant. Discovered in 1964, it is endemic to central Vietnam. Its range concentrates around Kẻ Gỗ Nature Reserve in Hà Tĩnh Province. Lophura Nycthemera
The silver pheasant (''Lophura nycthemera'') is a species of pheasant found in forests, mainly in mountains, of mainland Southeast Asia and eastern and southern China, with an Introduced species, introduced population on Victoria Island in Nahuel Huapi Lake, Neuquén Province, Neuquén, Argentina. Lophura Imperialis
The imperial pheasant (''Lophura'' × ''imperialis'') is a Pheasant, gallopheasant from Southeast Asia. Long thought to be an enigmatic and elusive species, it is actually a cross of Edwards's pheasant and the silver pheasant (''L. nycthemera'' subsp''. annamensis''), a Hybrid (biology), hybrid. The imperial pheasant is a dark blue, medium-sized, up to 75 cm long pheasant with bare red facial skin, blue crest, crimson legs and glossy plumage. The female is brown with erectile short feather crest, blackish tail and primaries. This pheasant is found in the forests of Vietnam and Laos.
