Edward Pelham-Clinton, 10th Duke Of Newcastle
Edward Charles Pelham-Clinton, 10th Duke of Newcastle-under-Lyne (18 August 1920 – 25 December 1988), known as Edward Pelham-Clinton until November 1988, was an English nobleman, a duke for less than two months at the end of his life, inheriting the titles from a third cousin. He had previously served in the Royal Artillery in the World War II, Second World War, during which he was once mentioned in dispatches. He later had a career as a lepidopterist. Education and career Pelham-Clinton was the son of Guy Edward Pelham-Clinton, an army officer and a grandson of Lord Charles Clinton, who was a younger son of Henry Pelham-Clinton, 4th Duke of Newcastle. He was educated at Eton College, Eton, and Trinity College, Oxford, and served as an officer in the Royal Artillery during the Second World War, rising to the rank of captain. His Grace or Her Grace is an English Style (manner of address), style used for various high-ranking personages. It was the style used to address English monarchs until Henry VIII and the Scottish monarchs up to the Act of Union (1707), Act of Union of 1707, which united the Kingdom of Scotland and the Kingdom of England. Axminster
Axminster is a market town and civil parish on the eastern border of the county of Devon in England. It is from the county town of Exeter. The town is built on a hill overlooking the River Axe which heads towards the English Channel at Axmouth, and is in the East Devon local government district. At the 2001 census, it had a population of 5,626, increasing to 5,761 at the 2011 census.
