Edward Colman or Coleman (17 May 1636 – 3 December 1678) was an English Catholic courtier under Charles II of England. Life He was born at Brent Eleigh, Suffolk, son of the local vicar Thomas Colman and his wife Margaret Wilson; he was a cousin of the Salisbury MP, Richard Colman, who died in 1672, and through Richard's wife Anne Hyde a distant connection of Edward Hyde, 1st Earl of Clarendon. He attended Trinity College, Cambridge, receiving an MA in 1659. Colman, who had been reared as a strict Puritan, converted to Roman Catholicism in the early 1660s. Edward Colman (American Politician)
Edward Colman (July 28, 1828September 4, 1898) was an American engineer, farmer, politician and Union Army officer in the American Civil War. He served one term in the Wisconsin State Senate as a Republican. Early life Colman was born on July 28, 1828, in Rochester, New York, a city co-founded by his grandfather, Colonel Nathaniel Rochester. As a young man, he trained as a civil engineer and worked on the Erie Canal. He moved to Empire, Wisconsin, in 1852, at age 24, and took up farming, though he continued to look for work as an engineer. Civil War service In the fall of 1861, after the outbreak of the American Civil War, Colman assisted in raising a company of volunteers to answer President Abraham Lincoln's call for three-year enlistments. Colman was made 1st Lieutenant of his company, which became Company A of the 18th Wisconsin Volunteer Infantry Regiment. The regiment mustered into service on March 15, 1862, under Colonel James S. Edward Colman (cinematographer)
Edward Colman (January 25, 1905 – January 24, 1995) was an American cinematographer. He had a prolific relationship with Walt Disney Studios; beginning his relationship with that studio in 1953 as cinematographer for the television series '' Dragnet''. He was nominated for an Emmy Award in 1956 for his work on that program. He also directed many live action films for Disney; notably earning Academy Award nominations for his cinematography for the films ''The Absent-Minded Professor'' (1961) and ''Mary Poppins'' (1964). Career He was born in Philadelphia on January 25, 1905. He started working in the film business in the early 1930s. Eddie Colman
Edward Colman (1 November 1936 – 6 February 1958) was an English football player and one of the eight Manchester United players who lost their lives in the Munich air disaster. Colman was born on Archie Street in Ordsall, Salford, Lancashire, the only child of plate player Richard Colman and his wife Elizabeth. He joined Manchester United's youth team on leaving school in the summer of 1952. He became a first-team member at right-half during the 1955-56 season, ousting Jeff Whitefoot to play alongside Duncan Edwards. He finished the season with a Football League First Division title medal. He collected another league championship medal the following season, and also helped United reach the European Cup semi-finals. He played in the FA Cup final that season, but only collected a runners-up medal as United lost 2–1 to Aston Villa.
