Edward Irham Cole
Edward Irham Cole (3 December 1859 – 1 July 1942) was an Australian theatrical entrepreneur and film director whose productions represented a synthesis of Wild West show and stage melodrama (often with a bushranger theme). He managed a theatre company, called the Bohemian Dramatic Company, that performed in semi-permanent and temporary tent theatres. During 1910 and 1911 Cole directed a number of silent films, adapted from his stage plays and using actors from his theatre company. Biography Cole arrived in Australia as a young man and worked for a time in Adelaide before moving to Wilcannia. He started in showbusiness as a lecturer, calling himself "the Bohemian" and giving presentations on various topics. He later joined the company of Texas Jack, an American showman in the Buffalo Bill mould. He established the Bohemian Dramatic Company, which toured the country performing shows. Edward Nicholas Cole (September 17, 1909 – May 2, 1977) was an American automotive executive for General Motors. Career Cole was the son of a dairy farmer. In his youth, he designed, built, and sold homemade radio sets, and as a teenager became a field representative for a tractor manufacturer. He wanted to be a lawyer, but landed a part-time job in an auto parts store while attending Grand Rapids Community College. He then enrolled in General Motors Institute, where he was a member of the Phi Kappa Epsilon (now Pi Kappa Alpha) Fraternity. Soon after Cole married his hometown sweetheart, Esther Engman. He worked in engineering, rising to co-head a team (with Harry Barr) that developed the 1949 Cadillac V8. He was briefly assigned to run a GM plant in Cleveland, Ohio, when Chevrolet general manager Tom Keating requested his assignment as chief engineer. Ned Cole
Ned C. Cole Jr. (February 6, 1917 – December 16, 2002) was bishop of the Episcopal Diocese of Central New York from 1969 to 1983, having previously been coadjutor bishop since 1963. Biography Cole was born in California, Missouri on February 6, 1917, the son of Ned Cole Sr and Gladys Walser. He graduated with a Bachelor of Arts from Westminster College in Fulton, Missouri in 1939 and then studied at the University of Missouri School of Law from where he graduated in 1940. Between 1940 and 1942 he was the secretary to Secretary of State of Missouri. Later he studied at the Episcopal Divinity School in Cambridge, Massachusetts from where he graduated with a Bachelor of Theology in 1948. He was awarded a Doctor of Divinity from Westminster College in 1957. Eddie Cole
Edward Bennett Coles (October 29, 1910 – June 18, 1970), known professionally as Eddie Cole, was an American jazz musician and brother to musicians Nat King Cole, Freddy Cole, and Ike Cole. Biography Eddie Cole was born to Rev. Edward J. and Perlina (Adams) Coles in Montgomery, Alabama, on October 29, 1910. He was the second oldest of ten children and the oldest son. His brothers Nat King Cole (1919–1965), Ike (1927–2001), and Freddy (1931–2020) also each pursued careers in music. He studied both piano and bass from a young age and formed his first band at age 17. Three years later at age 20, he joined Noble Sissle's band the Sizzling Syncopators, staying there six years and performing with greats such as Sidney Bechet and Clarence Brereton.
