Eduard Müller (12 November 1848 – 9 November 1919) was a Swiss politician, Mayor of Bern (1888–1895), President of the Swiss National Council (1890/1891) and member of the Swiss Federal Council (1895–1919). Otto Von Büren
Rudolf Otto von Büren (born 19 September 1822 in Bern - died 25 December 1888 in Bern) was a Swiss politician who served as the fourth mayor of Bern. Personal life Otto von Büren came from the patrician family von Büren. He followed education at private schools and followed further education at the university of Bern. He studied history and law in Bern and Neuchatel. He then spent a long time abroad and settled in the family castle on the family estate for a while. He married Henriette von Sinner. Political career Von Büren was a member of the Grand Council of the Canton of Bern from 1850 to 1864 and a member of the National Council (lower house of the federal parliament) from 1864 to 1884. He belonged to the Protestant conservative opposition and worked closely with the Catholic conservative opposition. Karl Schenk
Johann Karl Emmanuel Schenk (1 December 1823 – 18 July 1895) was a Swiss pastor, politician, and member of the Swiss Federal Council from 1863 until his death in 1895. Serving for , he was the longest-serving member in the Federal Council. Later in life he became one of the first leaders of the Swiss Red Cross. Life and work Schenk was born in 1823 in Bern, Switzerland, as the son of Christian Schenk. At the age of eleven, he became an orphan and lived in Korntal (Germany). From 1839 to 1842 he attended school in Bern and then studied theology. He completed his studies at the age of 22. In 1845 he became vicar and later pastor at Schüpfen. In 1848, he married Elise Kähr. The couple had nine children, two of which died at young age. Adrien Lachenal
Adrien Lachenal (19 May 1849, in Geneva – 29 June 1918) was a Swiss politician and Jurist. He was president of the Swiss Confederation in 1869. Married to Anne Louise Eggly in 1878, he had four sons. He was affiliated to the Free Democratic Party. He was a Freemason, and belonged to the Masonic lodge "Fidélité et Prudence" in Geneva. Lachenal is buried at the Cimetière des Rois, Geneva. Career and politics Adrien Lachenal was an outstanding speaker and lawyer, and he became known through defensive mandates in awe-inspiring trials. From 1885 to 1892 he was a substitute judge at the canton of Geneva. His military career led him to the rank of lieutenant-colonel.
