David Edgar Morgan (17 May 1896 – )) was a Welsh dual-code international rugby union, and professional rugby league footballer who played in the 1910s and 1920s. He played representative level rugby union (RU) for Wales, and at club level for New Dock Stars RFC and Llanelli RFC, as a forward, and representative level rugby league (RL) for Great Britain and Wales, and at club level for Hull FC ( Heritage № 266), as a . Llanelli ("St Elli's Parish"; ) is a market town and the largest community in Carmarthenshire and the preserved county of Dyfed, Wales. It is located on the Loughor estuary north-west of Swansea and south-east of the county town, Carmarthen. The town had a population of 25,168 in 2011, estimated in 2019 at 26,225. Dual-code Rugby Internationals
A dual-code rugby international is a rugby footballer who has played at the senior international level in both codes of rugby, 13-a-side rugby league and 15-a-side rugby union. Rugby league started as a breakaway version of rugby in Northern England in 1895 and in New Zealand and Australia in 1908, and consequently a number of early top-class rugby league players had been star players in the rugby union code. Accordingly, a high proportion of Australia and New Zealand's dual-code rugby internationals played in rugby league's formative years in those countries. From 1910 to 1995, dual-code internationals were infrequent and with the single exception of Karl Ifwersen, the player had always first appeared as a union international before shifting to league, due to strict bans applied by administrators in rugby union, which remained amateur, to those players who crossed to the professional code. The 1921–22 Northern Rugby Football Union season was the 27th season of rugby league football. Season summary Featherstone Rovers joined the competition this season. In November, winger Harold Buck became rugby league's first £1,000 transfer when he moved from Hunslet to Leeds. Oldham had ended the regular season as the league leaders. Wigan won their second ever Championship this season when they defeated Oldham 13-2 in the play-off final. The 1921–22 Kangaroo tour of Great Britain also took place during the season, with many of the clubs playing games against the visiting Australasian team. Oldham won the Lancashire League, and Huddersfield won the Yorkshire League. Warrington beat Oldham 7–5 to win the Lancashire Cup, and Leeds beat Dewsbury 11–3 to win the Yorkshire County Cup.
