Zach Edey
Zach Edey (; born May 14, 2002) is a Canadian college basketball player for the Purdue Boilermakers of the Big Ten Conference. He is listed at , making him the tallest player in Big Ten history. At the close of the 2023 season, Edey was named the Big Ten Player of the Year and consensus National Player of the Year. Edey also represented Canada at the 2021 FIBA Under-19 Basketball World Cup in Latvia. Early life and high school career Zach Edey was born in Toronto on May 14, 2002, to Julia and Glen Edey. His mother was born to Chinese immigrants in Toronto, where she grew up and played basketball; his father is white. Edey grew up playing ice hockey as well as baseball, which his father also played growing up. As a sophomore at Leaside High School in Toronto, Edey started playing basketball with the Northern Kings Amateur Athletic Union program. Winthrop Kellogg "Kelly" Edey (1938–1999) was a noted collector and horologist who lived in Manhattan, New York City. His well-regarded collection of timepieces is now in the Frick Collection. Edey is the subject of several '' Screen Tests'' by Andy Warhol and early ''Screen Tests'' were likely filmed at his Manhattan townhouse. Life and career Through his mother's family, Kelly was an heir of Morris W. Kellogg, founder of a major engineering and petroleum services company. He grew up in Upper Brookville, Long Island and graduated from Amherst College. His father, Maitland Edey, was an author and editor of Time-Life Books; his mother, Nancy Winthrop Edey was a psychiatrist and activist in the field of women's reproductive rights. Moses Chamberlain Edey
Moses Chamberlain Edey (1845–1919) was an Ottawa architect who designed the Aberdeen Pavilion at Lansdowne Park, a National Historic Site and the Daly Building (1905–1992), which was Ottawa's first department store. His architectural styles were Gothic, Romanesque, and Beaux Arts, with the Daly Building a Chicago style. Edey had worked with Ottawa architect W.E. Tyler Edey (born February 29, 1980) is a Canadian pocket billiards player. He reached the first place at the 8-Ball Championship. During the 2006 WPA Men's World Nine-ball Championship he survived the group stages, the round of 64 and the round of 32, but was eliminated in the round of 16 by Liu Cheng-chuan. This performance secured him a spot in the 2007 edition of the tournament. Career In the US Open Tyler Edey reached the 13th place in 2004. In 2006, he lost in the Nine-ball World Cup only in the second round against the Taiwanese Liu Cheng-chuan. In 2007 he retired in the preliminary round. Tim Edey
Tim Edey is an English multi-instrumentalist and composer who grew up in Broadstairs, Kent and is now based in Perthshire, Scotland. In 2012 he was Musician of the Year at the BBC Radio 2 Folk Awards and, with Brendan Power, Best Duo. He was awarded "Musician of the Year" in the 2020 MG Alba Scots Trad Music Awards. Edey has been described as an "instrumental genius". As well as singing, he plays guitars, melodeon, piano and tin whistle.
