The Ecuadorian national under-20 football team represents Ecuador in international under-20 football competitions and is controlled by the Ecuadorian Football Federation. History The future of Ecuador's national team has depended on very bright young talents historically, as illustrated in the team that qualified and participated in the 2001 FIFA World Youth Championship where players such as Segundo Castillo, Felix Borja, and Franklin Salas made an impression. The U-20 squad had to wait ten years to re-qualify to the 2011 FIFA U-20 World Cup. In 2007, Ecuador's national U-20 squad participated in the 2007 Panamerican Games. The Ecuadorian Football Federation ( es, Federación Ecuatoriana de Fútbol or ) is the governing body of football in Ecuador. Its headquarters are in Quito, and it organizes the country's various football competitions and oversees the Ecuador national team. The Brazil national under-20 football team, also known as Brazil Sub-20 or Seleção Sub-20, represents Brazil in association football at this age level and is controlled by the Brazilian Football Confederation, Brazilian Football Confederation (CBF). 2015 FIFA U-20 World Cup
The 2015 FIFA U-20 World Cup was the twentieth edition of the FIFA U-20 World Cup since its inception in 1977 as the FIFA World Youth Championship. The competition took place for the first time in New Zealand, the third time on Oceanian soil after Australia staged the 1981 and 1993 editions. A total of 52 matches were played in seven host cities. During the first meeting of the local organising committee in January 2013, provisional dates of 19 June to 11 July were given towards hosting of games, with a final decision on stadiums and cities originally meant to be taken in February 2013. 2013 FIFA U-20 World Cup
The 2013 FIFA U-20 World Cup was the nineteenth edition of the FIFA U-20 World Cup, since its inception in 1977 as the FIFA World Youth Championship. It ran from 21 June to 13 July 2013. At the FIFA Executive Meeting in Zürich on 3 March 2011, Turkey beat other bids to host the series games, from host competition by the United Arab Emirates and Uzbekistan. In its bid, Turkey suggested the use of thirteen stadiums in ten of its cities, before deciding in February 2012, that seven cities would play host to games. This tournament marked the first time in its history that neither Argentina nor Brazil (the most successful teams in the competition) qualified. 2009 FIFA U-20 World Cup
The 2009 FIFA U-20 World Cup was the 17th edition of the FIFA U-20 World Cup, which was hosted by Egypt from 24 September to 16 October 2009. The tournament was initially going to take place between 10 and 31 July. However, the 2009 FIFA Confederations Cup was played mid-year, resulting in both that year's U-20 and 2009 FIFA U-17 World Cup, U-17 World Cups being played at the end of the year. 1977 FIFA World Youth Championship
The 1977 FIFA World Youth Championship was the inaugural staging of the FIFA World Youth Championship, hosted by Tunisia from 27 June to 10 July 1977, in three venues — Tunis, Sousse and Sfax. The 28 matches played were the smallest number in tournament history. The USSR U20, defeated Mexico U20 in a penalty shootout, in the final held at Tunis's Stade El Menzah. FIFA U-20 World Cup
The FIFA U-20 World Cup is the biennial football world championship tournament for FIFA members’ men's national teams with players under the age of 20. The competition has been staged every two years since the inaugural tournament in 1977 when it was hosted by Tunisia, under the tournament name of FIFA World Youth Championship until 2005. In 2007 the name was changed to its present form. The current title holder is Ukraine which won its first title at the 2019 tournament in Poland. 2009 South American Youth Championship
The 2009 South American Youth Championship (Sudamericano sub-20) was a football competition for national teams U-20 who are associated with the football federation CONMEBOL. It was the 24th time the tournament was held and took place in Venezuela from January 19 to February 8. It also served as qualification for the 2009 FIFA U-20 World Cup. Wilson Folleco
Wilson Adalberto Folleco Morales (born 4 September 1989) is an Ecuadorian footballer currently playing for Gualaceo Sporting Club. Club career Folleco started playing professionally for Imbabura. He spent about a year playing there and already got interest from many teams because of his versatile position. He was loaned out to Deportivo Cuenca in the 2008 season. He had a spectacular season with Cuenca even though they did not do very well in the liguilla final. He played seven times for Barcelona Sporting Club during the 2009 season. Jefferson Antonio Montero Vite (; born 1 September 1989) is an Ecuadorian professional footballer who plays as a winger for Ecuadorian Serie A club S.D. Aucas. He has represented the Ecuador national team at senior international level.
