Ecological Movement of Venezuela ( es, Movimiento Ecológico de Venezuela, MOVEV) is a green political party in Venezuela. History The Ecological Movement of Venezuela is the first Venezuelan political green party and the first officially affiliated to the Global Greens network. The party first started as a social activist movement on the year 2005, where it grew to become a recognized political entity by the National Electoral Council, on February, 2010. Fifth Republic Movement
The Fifth Republic Movement (Spanish: ''Movimiento V uintaRepública'', MVR) was a socialist political party in Venezuela. It was founded in July 1997, following a national congress of the Revolutionary Bolivarian Movement-200, to support the candidacy of Hugo Chávez, the former President of Venezuela, in the 1998 presidential election. The "Fifth Republic" refers to the fact that in 1997 the Republic of Venezuela was the fourth in Venezuelan history, and the Movement aimed to re-found the Republic through a constituent assembly. Following Chávez' 1998 election victory, this took place in 1999, leading to the 1999 Constitution of Venezuela. At the legislative elections on 30 July 2000, the party won 91 out of 165 seats in the National Assembly. Pedro Bastidas
Pedro Bastidas (17 January 1976 – 19 April 2021) was a Venezuelan politician. A member of the United Socialist Party of Venezuela, he served as Mayor of the Girardot Municipality from 2008 to 2021 and was on the from 2004 to 2008. He also worked as an agricultural technician and held a degree in market research. He died of COVID-19 on 19 April 2021, at the age of 45. Career In the 2008 Venezuelan regional elections, he was elected Mayor of the Girardot Municipality over Justice First candidate Richard Mardo by just 151 votes. He took office on 1 December 2008. In 2009, he created the state-owned enterprise "Fábrica de Sueños", which provided toys for poor children in the region. In 2010, he provided universal Wi-Fi to the municipality at eight different locations across Maracay. 2008 Venezuelan Regional Elections
The 2008 regional elections of Venezuela were held on 23 November 2008 to choose 22 governors and 2 metropolitan mayors. The candidates were selected for a term beginning in 2008 and ending in 2012, when the next regional elections will be held. The 2008 regional elections were the second during the government of Hugo Chávez Frías and the first since he founded the United Socialist Party. The government of the state of Amazonas and nine municipalities were not chosen in this elections because they had been elected after the 2004 regional elections.
