Eberhard Von Koerber
Eberhard "Ebbo" von Koerber (11 June 1938 – 3 August 2017) was a German manager. As a member of the Board of Management of BMW, he was responsible for sales and marketing from 1984 to 1986. Between 1988 and 1998, he was responsible for the activities of Asea Brown Boveri in Europe, the Middle East and Africa as Vice President of the Group Executive in Zurich. From 2007 to 2012, he was co-president of the Club of Rome. Born in Stade, Lower Saxony, he was orphaned when his father was killed during World War II and later joined Scouting in the late 1940s. At 14, he was a patrol leader. After studying law, he became a businessman and settled in Switzerland. From 2003 to 2006, von Koerber served as the chairman of the World Scout Foundation of the World Organization of the Scout Movement from 2003 to 2006. Stade
Stade (), officially the Hanseatic City of Stade (german: Hansestadt Stade, nds, Hansestadt Stood) is a city in Lower Saxony in northern Germany. First mentioned in records in 934, it is the seat of the district () which bears its name. It is located roughly to the west of Hamburg and belongs to that city's wider metropolitan region. Scouting
Scouting, also known as the Scout Movement, is a worldwide youth movement employing the Scout method, a program of informal education with an emphasis on practical outdoor activities, including camping, woodcraft, aquatics, hiking, backpacking, and sports. Another widely recognized movement characteristic is the Scout uniform, by intent hiding all differences of social standing in a country and encouraging equality, with neckerchief and campaign hat or comparable headwear. World Organization Of The Scout Movement
The World Organization of the Scout Movement (WOSM ) is the largest international Scouting organization. WOSM has 173 members. These members are recognized national Scout organizations, which collectively have around 43 million participants. WOSM was established in 1922, and has its operational headquarters at Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia and its legal seat in Geneva, Switzerland. It is the counterpart of the World Association of Girl Guides and Girl Scouts (WAGGGS). Bronze Wolf
The Bronze Wolf Award is bestowed by the World Scout Committee (WSC) to acknowledge "outstanding service by an individual to the World Scout Movement". It is the highest honor that can be given a volunteer Scout leader in the world and it is the only award given by the WSC. Since the award's creation in 1935, fewer than 400 of the several millions of Scouts throughout the world have received the award. History Scouting's founder, Robert Baden-Powell, initially recognized outstanding contributions to Scouting by any Scout with the bestowal of the Silver Wolf, but although he was Chief Scout of the World, the Silver Wolf was associated with British Scouting. The World Scout Foundation (WSF) is an international, non-profit institution based in Geneva, Switzerland. Its mission is to develop World Scouting by the provision of financial and other support through the World Organization of the Scout Movement (WOSM). Scouting is a pastime for young people typically organized in local units that emphasizes outdoor activities, self-discipline and civic engagement.
