Ebba is a feminine given name, the feminine version of Ebbe, which is a diminutive form of the Germanic name Eberhard or Everhard, meaning "strong." Alternately, it may be a form of an Old English name Æbbe, of unknown derivation, which was the name of several early saints. Ebba Haslund
Ebba Margareta Haslund Halvorsen (12 August 1917 – 10 July 2009) was a Norwegian novelist, writer of short stories, playwright, essayist, children's writer, literary critic, radio speaker and politician. Early and personal life Haslund was born in Seattle, Washington as the daughter of Frantz Philip Haslund (1883–1974) and Ebba Margareta Gillblad (1890–1957). Haslund has described her father as an "adventurer", and they travelled regularly during her early life. She became a student in 1935, and studied languages in both England, Germany and France before World War II. She graduated from the University of Oslo in 1941 with the cand.philol. degree. In 1940 she married businessman Sverre Fjeld Halvorsen (1910–2005), who was imprisoned at Grini and in Poland during World War II, but survived. Ebba Carstensen
Ebba Ninna Back Carstensen (23 August 1885 – 13 October 1967) was a Danish painter. Her painting developed from a rather Impressionist style towards Cubism. Biography Born in Västra Kärrstorp near Malmö in Sweden, she was the daughter of a farmer. When she was 18 months old, the family moved to Denmark, where they lived on the little farm of Eriksholm near Helsingør. Her upbringing in the country was to inspire her paintings of poultry, cattle and fields. She first studied painting under Sigurd Wandel in Helsingør (1903–05) before attending A.W. Bouguereau and Edouard Sain's school of painting. From 1909 to 1913, she attended the Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts, studying under Laurits Tuxen and Valdemar Irminger. She first exhibited in 1908 in Charlottenborg Palace, Charlottenborg. Princess Ebba Bernadotte (''née'' Ebba Henrietta Munck af Fulkila; 24 October 1858 – 16 October 1946), was a Swedish noble, lady-in-waiting and a titular princess, the spouse of Prince Oscar Bernadotte. "Ebba" Jeanette Morman (1769 – 9 October 1802) was a Swedish stage actress. She was active at the Royal Dramatic Theatre in 1791-1802 and was popular actress, known for her demonic character portraits. Life Ebba Morman married cleric Johan Peter Brolin in 1788, but was divorced by 1792, when she signed a contract with the name Ebba Jeanette de Morman. Ebba Wilhelmina Modée (1775–1840), was a Swedish noble and courtier, the love interest of king Gustav IV Adolf of Sweden. She was the daughter of Carl Wilhelm Modée and Ebba Ulrika Sparre af Söfdeborg. She was maid of honor to the Swedish princess Hedwig Elizabeth Charlotte of Holstein-Gottorp from 1794 to 1801, and accompanied her on her trip to Germany and Austria in 1798-99. ''Ebba'' Helfrid ''Lindqvist'' -Galéen (April 7, 1908 in Oscar Fredrik parish, Gothenburg, grew up in Grebbestad – September 5, 1995 in Varberg), was a Swedish writer (poet). Ebba Johanna Bergman Lindkvist, also Lindqvist, (1882–1942) was a Swedish actress and film director. Ebba Anna Jungmark (born 10 March 1987) is a Swedish high jumper.
