Watsessing Park is a park in Essex County, New Jersey, in the city of East Orange and the Watsessing section of Bloomfield Township. The park covers 69 acres (279,000 m²), just west of the Garden State Parkway, and contains the confluence of the Second River and Toney's Brook. The name "Watsessing" comes from the language of the Lenni Lenape Indians who inhabited the area before European colonization; it means "crooked" or "elbow". Ampere (NJT Station)
Ampere, formerly known as The Crescent, is a defunct stop on New Jersey Transit's Montclair Branch, Montclair-Boonton Line in the city of East Orange, New Jersey, East Orange, Essex County, New Jersey, Essex County, New Jersey, United States. A station was first built there in 1890 to service to new Schuyler Wheeler, Crocker Wheeler plant in the district. The stop was named in honor of André-Marie Ampère, a pioneer in electrodynamics and reconstructed as a new Renaissance Revival architecture, Renaissance Revival station in 1908. Ampere was the second stop on the branch west of Newark Broad Street Station until 1984, when the Roseville Avenue (NJT station), Roseville Avenue station was closed. Albert Randolph Ross (October 26, 1868 – October 27, 1948) was an American architect. Born in Westfield, Massachusetts, he was a son of architect John W. Ross. Biography Albert Ross attended grammar school in Westfield and later in Davenport, Iowa, where he went to high school, graduating in 1884. After working as a draughtsman in his father's architecture office in Davenport from 1884 to 1887, he spent a year working for an architect in Buffalo, New York, before joining the New York City firm of McKim, Mead and White in 1891. In 1898, he formed the firm of Ackerman & Ross with William S. Ackerman, a partnership which dissolved in 1901.
