Earth One (DC Graphic Novel Series)
Earth One (EO) is an imprint of graphic novels published by DC Comics, featuring re-imagined and modernized versions of the company's superhero characters from the DC Universe. Those characters include Superman, Batman, Wonder Woman, Green Lantern, and the Teen Titans, as well as others whose characteristics and origin stories are revised and altered to suit the 21st century audience. The shared universe, unlike the original DC Universe in comic books, has yet to cross over its common plot elements, settings, and characters. The reality of Earth One is designated as Earth-1 as part of the DC Multiverse. A crossover is the placement of two or more otherwise discrete fictional characters, settings, or universes into the context of a single story. Harold "Hal" Jordan, one of the characters known as Green Lantern, is a superhero appearing in American comic books published by DC Comics. Francis Manapul (born August 26, 1979) is a Filipino Canadian comic book artist and writer. Career Manapul is known for his work on ''Witchblade'' and '' The Necromancer'' for Top Cow, working on the former for three years, off and on, returning for the tenth anniversary issue in 2005. A line is a concept in western comic books which denotes a specific group of publications by a publisher. Sometimes taking place in a separate continuity or more loose continuity (such as Vertigo by DC Comics) or exploring a kind of subject matter and or genre which the publisher does not want to involve in their main franchise or so called "universe". Often lines which explore more "realistic" or "dark" subject matters are published under a companies sub imprints (such as Ultimate Marvel or MAX by Marvel Comics) to distinguish it from their main superhero lines. Earth-One (also Earth-1) is a name given to two fictional universes (The Pre-Crisis and Post-Crisis versions of the same universe) that have appeared in American comic book stories published by DC Comics. The first Earth-One was given its name in ''Justice League of America'' #21 (August 1963), after ''The Flash'' #123 (September 1961) explained how Golden Age (Earth-Two) versions of characters such as the Flash ( Jay Garrick) could appear in stories with their Silver Age counterparts (Barry Allen).
