Eamon O'Carroll
Eamon O'Carroll (born 13 June 1987) is a former Ireland international rugby league footballer who last played for the Widnes Vikings. Eamon progressed through the Wigan Warriors Academy after signing in 2002 from Waterhead A.R.L.F.C. (in Waterhead, Greater Manchester) to eventually find himself playing during the 2005 and 2006 seasons. He was called up into the first-team squad for the first time before Wigan Warriors' Challenge Cup match with Wakefield Trinity Wildcats in April 2006. He was an immediate hit with the Wigan Warriors fans for his enthusiasm and work rate. He went on to make four more appearances that season. After numerous impressive performances Eamon O'Carroll went on to make 13 Super League appearances for Wigan Warriors in the 2007 season which was probably best remembered for the opening day of the season when Wigan Warriors played Warrington Wolves where Adrian Morley came off second best in a collision with Eamon. Wigan Warriors
The Wigan Warriors are a professional rugby league club in Wigan, Greater Manchester, England, which competes in the Super League. Formed in 1872 as Wigan Football Club, Wigan was a founding member of the Rugby Football League, Northern Rugby Football Union following the History of rugby league, schism from the Rugby Football Union in 1895. Wigan is the most successful club in the history of World Rugby League having won 22 Rugby Football League Championship, League Championships (including 5 Super League Grand Finals), 20 Challenge Cups, 4 World Club Challenges and over 100 honours in total. 2008 Rugby League World Cup
The 2008 Rugby League World Cup was the thirteenth staging of the Rugby League World Cup since its inauguration in 1954, and the first since the 2000 tournament. The tournament was held in Australia from 26 October, culminating in the final between Australia and New Zealand on 22 November. The tournament was the fourth time that the World Cup was held in Australia, the first being in 1957. The tournament was won by New Zealand, who defeated Australia 34–20 in the final in one of the greatest upsets in the history of the sport. The tournament featured the best ten teams around the globe which were split into three groups. A total of eighteen matches took place in twelve different venues across four Australian states. The tournament ended a year of celebrations commemorating the centenary of the game in the southern hemisphere and was part of the Festival of World Cups. Andrew Scott Coley (born 7 July 1978) is an English former professional rugby league footballer who played as a and forward in the 1990s, 2000s and 2010s. A Great Britain and England international forward, he played in the Super League for the Salford City Reds and the Wigan Warriors.
