Almeron Eager
Almeron Eager (March 14, 1838 – October 15, 1902) was an American farmer, merchant, and politician. Born in Sangerfield, New York, Eager moved to Wisconsin, in 1854, and settled on a farm in the town of Union, Rock County, Wisconsin. In 1868, Eager moved to Evansville, Wisconsin. He was also a merchant, tobacco buyer, and was president of the Baker Manufacturing Company. Eager served as town treasurer and then as trustee and president of the village of Evansville, Wisconsin. Eager also served on the Rock County, Wisconsin Board of Supervisors and was a Republican. Benjamin Arthur Eager (born January 22, 1984) is a Canadians, Canadian former professional ice hockey player. He won the Stanley Cup with the Chicago Blackhawks in 2010. Playing career Eager was drafted in the first round, 23rd overall, by the Arizona Coyotes, Phoenix Coyotes in the 2002 NHL Entry Draft. He was later traded by the Coyotes, with goaltender Sean Burke and forward Branko Radivojevič, to the Philadelphia Flyers in exchange for centre Mike Comrie. The 2006–07 NHL season, 2006–07 season would see Eager lead the NHL in penalty minutes, even though he only played 63 games. That same season, he also won the List of Philadelphia Flyers award winners#Pelle Lindbergh Memorial Trophy, Pelle Lindbergh Memorial Trophy as the Flyer who has most improved from the previous season, as voted by his teammates. Brenda Lee Eager
Brenda Lee Eager (born August 8, 1947) is an American soul singer, songwriter and musical theatre performer who has written and performed several hits, including "Ain't Understanding Mellow", " Close to You", and "Somebody's Somebody". Life and career She was born in Mobile, Alabama, and brought up in the small town of Lower Peach Tree, where she began singing in church as a child. She also started writing songs, and by the tenth grade led her own vocal group. She first sang professionally at the age of 17 at the Kings Club in Prichard, Alabama. She later relocated to Chicago, Illinois, and by 1971 was the lead singer in Jerry Butler's backup group Peaches. She recorded several singles with Butler, including, "Ain't Understanding Mellow", which was her biggest chart success, reaching number 3 on the '' Billboard'' R&B chart and number 21 on the Hot 100. Clay Eager (August 8, 1925 – March 7, 1995) was the stage name of Wilbur Clay Eagy Jr., a rockabilly and country music singer of the 1950s. Biography Eager was born in Lima, Ohio. He owned his own record label, Karl Records, in which he released records by rockabilly recording artists such as Ray King, Bo Ratliff, Little Dickie Chaffin, Archie Poe, Von Stephens, Deacon Morris, and Larry Edwards. The label was based out of Springfield, Ohio. Eager appeared on radio stations WFTW out of Fort Wayne, Indiana and WLOK out of Lima, Ohio in 1950. In addition he also worked as a DJ and Program Director at WHOK in Lancaster, Ohio. Edward McMaken Eager (June 20, 1911 – October 23, 1964) was an American lyricist, dramatist, and writer of children's fiction. His children's novels feature the appearance of magic in the lives of ordinary children. Most of the ''Magic'' series is contemporary low fantasy. Biography Eager was born in and grew up in Toledo, Ohio and attended Harvard University class of 1935. After graduation, he moved to New York City, where he lived for 14 years before moving to Connecticut. He married Jane Eberly in 1938 and they had a son, Fritz. Eager was a childhood fan of L. Frank Baum's ''Oz'' series, and started writing children's books when he could not find stories he wanted to read to his own young son. In his books, Eager often acknowledges his debt to E. Nesbit, whom he thought of as the best children's author of all time. A well-known lyricist and playwright, Eager died on October 23, 1964, in Stamford, Connecticut of lung cancer, aged 53. Helen Eager (born 27 September 1952, Sydney, Australia) is an Australian artist with an exhibition history of over 40 years. Her work 'Tango' was selected for the Inaugural Circular Quay Foyer Wall Commission at the Museum of Contemporary Art Australia (MCA), Sydney in 2011. An initial temporary site-specific commission, 'Tango' is now permanently on display in a new location at MCA. Kenneth Eager
Kenneth Eager (2 January 1929 – 22 September 2013) was an English stone sculptor, and wood carver, who was part of The Guild of St Joseph and St Dominic founded by Eric Gill in Ditchling, Sussex. From 1945 Eager was an assistant to Joseph Cribb at the Guild, and remained there after Cribb's death in 1967 until its closure in 1989. Eager commuted daily to Ditchling from his home in Brighton. Mark Eager (born 17 March) is a London born conductor and former BBC National Orchestra of Wales Principal Trombone. He lives in Chelsea and Dorset, United Kingdom. Biography Eager graduated from the Royal Academy of Music (1984), with Dip.RAM. He freelanced with the BBC Symphony Orchestra, English Chamber Orchestra, London Concert Orchestra, BBC Concert Orchestra, Bournemouth Symphony Orchestra, Ulster Orchestra, Royal Ballet Sinfonia and others until joining the BBC National Orchestra of Wales as Principal Trombone (1993–2006). He undertook much concerto work until 2006 when the Trombone Concerto 2004 (commissioned by the BBC) written for him by Alun Hoddinott caused serious muscle damage, ending his playing career.
