Elvo
The Elvo (Piedmontese: ''Elv'') is a torrent (an intermittent stream) in the Piedmont region of north-west Italy and is the principal tributary of the Cervo. It runs through the communes of Sordevolo, Occhieppo Superiore, Occhieppo Inferiore, Cerrione and Salussola in the Province of Biella, and of Carisio and Casanova Elvo in the Province of Vercelli. The river’s valley is named after it as the Valle dell'Elvo. Here the municipalities are organized into two comunità montane: the Comunità Montana Alta Valle Elvo in the upper part of the valley, and the Comunità Montana Bassa Valle Elvo in the lower. Many of the water courses of the Canavese and of the area of Biella—the torrent Orco, for example—are noted for the presence of gold-bearing sands. In the case of the Orco these are concentrated in the area of the Bessa nature reserve. Cervo (river)
The Cervo (Piedmontese ''Sar'' or ''Serv'') is a torrent (a form of seasonally intermittent stream) in the Piedmont region of north-west Italy. It is the principal tributary of the river Sesia, which itself is a significant tributary of the Po. Etymology The name ''Cervo'' rather than from the Latin ''cervus'' (''deer'') should come from the Germanic ''saar'' (''stream'' or ''river''). Geography It crosses the provinces of Biella (communes of Piedicavallo, Rosazza, Campiglia Cervo, Sagliano Micca, Andorno Micca, Tollegno, Biella, Candelo and Castelletto Cervo) and Vercelli (Quinto Vercellese). The Cervo’s source is the Lago della Vecchia (close to the '' Rifugio della Vecchia'') in the Biellese Prealps. Monte Mars
Monte Mars or Mont Mars , at 2,600 m, is the highest peak of the Biellese Alps, north-western Italy. Geography It is located on the water divide between the Lys Valley (Aosta Valley) and the Elvo Valley (Province of Biella). In the SOIUSA (''International Standardized Mountain Subdivision of the Alps'') it gives the name to a mountain group called ''"Catena Tre Vescovi - Mars"''. Access to the summit It can be ascended from the south, starting from the Sanctuary of Oropa or, from the North, starting from the Lys Valley. Biella
Biella (; pms, Biela; la, Bugella) is a city and ''comune'' in the northern Italian region of Piedmont, the capital of the province of the same name, with a population of 44,324 as of 31 December 2017.
