EHRC–OHCHR Tigray Investigation
The EHRC–OHCHR Tigray investigation is a human rights investigation launched jointly by the Ethiopian Human Rights Commission (EHRC) and the Office of the United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights (OHCHR) in mid-2021 into human rights violations of the Tigray War that started in November 2020. The EHRC–OHCHR joint investigation team's report was published on 3 November 2021. Background Human rights violations in the Tigray War that started in November 2020 were widely viewed as war crimes including systematic sexual violence, possibly amounting to rape as a weapon of war, crimes against humanity or genocide. Debre Nazret is a ''tabia'' or municipality in the Enderta (woreda), Inderta district of the Tigray Region of Ethiopia. It belonged to Degua Tembien, Dogu'a Tembien up to January 2020. The ''tabia'' centre is in Togogwa town, located approximately 19 km to the east-southeast of Hagere Selam (Degua Tembien), Hagere Selam and 25 km to the west of Mekelle. ACHPR Tigray Investigation
The ACHPR Tigray investigation is an African Commission on Human and Peoples' Rights (ACHPR) investigation of human rights violations occurring in the Tigray War including extrajudicial executions of civilians and sexual violence. Mai Kadra Massacre
The Mai Kadra massacre was a massacre carried out during the Tigray War. Ethnic cleansing and mass murders were carried out on 9–10 November 2020 in the town of Mai Kadra in the Tigray Region of northwestern Ethiopia, near the Sudanese border. The House of Peoples' Representatives is the lower house of the Ethiopian Federal Parliamentary Assembly. Located in the capital Addis Ababa, the House has 547 members.
