EA Patras
E.A. Patras is a Greek omnisports club founded in 1927 and based in Patras. It is mostly known for its volleyball and boxing sections, which compete at the highest level in Greece. The volleyball section won the Greek championship in 1938, whereas the boxing section won the national title in 1979, 1983, 1984, 1988 and 1989. E.A. Patras Volleyball - A1 Ethniki E.A. Patras was one of the protagonists after the establishment of the Greek volleyball league in the 1930s, winning the title in 1937-38 and being the runner-up in the seasons 1935-36, 1936–37 and 1939-1940. Orestiada
Orestiada ( el, Ορεστιάδα, formerly , ''Nea Orestiás''), is the northeasternmost, northernmost and newest city of Greece and the second largest town of the Evros regional unit of Thrace. Founded by Greek refugees from Edirne after the Treaty of Lausanne when the population exchange occurred between Turkey and Greece, in which the river Evros became the new border between the two countries. Volleyball Clubs In Greece
Volleyball is a team sport in which two teams of six players are separated by a net. Each team tries to score points by grounding a ball on the other team's court under organized rules. It has been a part of the official program of the Summer Olympic Games since Tokyo 1964. Beach volleyball was introduced to the programme at the Atlanta 1996. The adapted version of volleyball at the Summer Paralympic Games is sitting volleyball. The complete set of rules is extensive, but play essentially proceeds as follows: a player on one of the teams begins a 'rally' by serving the ball (tossing or releasing it and then hitting it with a hand or arm), from behind the back boundary line of the court, over the net, and into the receiving team's court. Associazione Sportiva Volley Lube is a professional volleyball team based in Treia, Italy. Since 1995 the club has been playing in the Serie A of the Italian Volleyball League. It won the Italian Championship seven times, the Italian Cup five times, and the Italian SuperCup three-times. Lamia ( el, Λαμία, ''Lamía'', ) is a city in central Greece. The city dates back to antiquity, and is today the capital of the regional unit of Phthiotis and of the Central Greece region (comprising five regional units). According to the 2011 census, the Municipality of Lamia has a population of 75.315 while Lamia itself a population of 52,006 inhabitants. Greek Volleyball Cup
The Greek Volleyball Cup began with 1980–81 season. It is organized by Hellenic Volleyball Federation. The competition was not held sometimes in the past for financial reasons . Olympiacos won the first Cup in 1981 and is the most successful club, having won the title 16 times. PAOK are the current Cup holders. In season 2008–09, it was carried out the final four tournament, but the tournament wasn't carried out and the next years because of riots in the place of final four's tournament, between the fans of Olympiacos and Panathinaikos.
