E. M. Lewis
Ellen M. Lewis (professionally known as E. M. Lewis) is an American playwright, teacher, and opera librettist based in Oregon. Career Lewis pursued degrees in literature (BA English, MFA Writing) before moving to Baltimore in 2013 to train with the American Lyric Theater’s Composer Librettist Development Program. Her work has gone on to receive critical success. Silverton, Oregon
Silverton is a city in Marion County, Oregon, United States. The city is situated along the 45th parallel about northeast of Salem, in the eastern margins of the broad alluvial plain of the Willamette Valley. The city is named after Silver Creek, which flows through the town from Silver Falls into the Pudding River, and thence into the Willamette River. The community of Milford was founded in 1846 with a sawmill, store and several other buildings two miles upstream from the present location of Silverton. In about 1853 a second sawmill was built on Silver Creek near where the Silverton city hall now stands. In 1854 the town of Silverton was platted and registered with Marion County. Human habitation of the Silverton area extends back approximately 6,000 years before the present. Artists Repertory Theatre (Artists Rep) is a professional non-profit theatre located in Portland, Oregon, United States. The longest-running professional theatre company in Portland, since 1982 the company has focused on presenting the works of contemporary playwrights, including world premieres. The Oregon Shakespeare Festival (OSF) is a regional repertory theatre in Ashland, Oregon, United States, founded in 1935 by Angus L. Bowmer. Oregon Book Award
The Oregon Book Awards are presented annually by Literary Arts to honor the "state’s finest accomplishments by Oregon writers who work in genres of poetry, fiction, graphic literature, drama, literary nonfiction, and literature for young readers." Oregon Book Award was founded in 1987 by Brian Booth and Oregon Institute for Literary Arts (OILA). Eugenio María de Hostos Community College of The City University of New York is a public community college in the South Bronx, New York City. It is part of the City University of New York (CUNY) system and was created by an act of the Board of Higher Education in 1968 in response to demands from the Hispanic/ Puerto Rican community, which was urging for the establishment of a college to serve the people of the South Bronx. Silverton High School (Oregon)
Silverton High School is a public high school located in the rural town of Silverton, Oregon, United States. It is a part of the Silver Falls School District, and is the only high school in the district. Campus Silverton High School, until recently, was divided between two campuses, the older Schlador Street campus, and the newer Pine Street campus. In 1994, voters passed the bond levy for construction of the first phase of a two phase project to build a new high school building. The new high school campus was constructed on Pine Street in Silverton, and was completed in 2002 with the capacity to hold approximately 500 students. However, the initial bond levy for the second phase failed, leaving the Silverton High School divided between its two campuses.
