E.Y.C. (band)
E.Y.C. (also known as Express Yourself Clearly) was an American pop music, pop/Contemporary R&B, R&B musical ensemble, group. Its members were Damon Butler, Dave Loeffler and Trey Parker. E.Y.C. formed to find success in their home country, but became more popular in the United Kingdom and Australia. As the band were forming, Parker was playing Kid Blink in the Disney movie ''Newsies''. Parker and Butler first met as backing dancers on the Tiffany Darwish, Tiffany and New Kids on the Block Hangin' Tough Tour. They were the first group to win the Best Roadshow Act award at the Smash Hits Poll Winners Party, which later launched the careers of Boyzone, Backstreet Boys, and many more in the following years. The band also toured with Whitney Houston and Prince (musician), Prince. They scored six top 40 hits in the UK Singles Chart before disbanding. UK Albums Chart
The Official Albums Chart is a list of albums ranked by physical and digital sales and (from March 2015) audio streaming in the United Kingdom. It was published for the first time on 22 July 1956 and is compiled every week by the Official Charts Company (OCC) on Fridays (previously Sundays). It is broadcast on BBC Radio 1 (top 5) and found on the OCC website as a Top 100 or on UKChartsPlus as a Top 200, with positions continuing until all sales have been tracked in data only available to industry insiders. However, even though number 100 was classed as a hit album (as in the case of The Guinness Book of British Hit Albums) in the 1980s until January 1989, since the compilations were removed this definition was changed to Top 75 with follow-up books such as The Virgin Book of British Hit Albums book only including this data. East 17
East 17 are an English pop boy band started by Tony Mortimer, Brian Harvey, John Hendy, and Terry Coldwell in 1991. As of 2020, the group consists of Coldwell, Robbie Craig, and Joe Livermore. East 17 have undergone multiple lineup changes, with Coldwell remaining the only constant member. The group has achieved eighteen top-20 singles and four top-10 albums, and they were one of the UK's most popular boy bands during the early to mid-1990s, aided by strong tabloid interest in their 'bad boy' image, compared to the 'clean-cut' image of rivals Take That. Let Loose is a British pop trio, with Richie Wermerling (born Richard John Wermerling, 11 May 1968 in Whitechapel, London) on lead vocals and keyboards, Rob Jeffrey (born Robert George Edward Jeffrey, 30 November 1967 in Romford, East London) on guitars and backing vocals, and Lee J. Murray (born 14 May 1970 in Edgware, Middlesex) on drums, percussion and backing vocals. Ultimate Kaos
Ultimate Kaos (stylised as Ultimate KAOS) were a British boyband from the 1990s, who were formed by Simon Cowell. Its original members comprised Jomo Baxter, Jayde Spence, Ryan Elliott, Nick Grant and the then 9 years old Haydon Eshun. Career In 1992, the band were originally known as Chaos, but their only single issued under this name was a cover version of the Michael Jackson song " Farewell My Summer Love". Before they released the single, they were Sinitta's backing dancers, as Sinitta at the time, was dating Cowell. Haydon Eshun had previously appeared on Michael Barrymore's TV programme showcasing British talent. Deuce (band)
Deuce were a British pop group that found moderate success in the mid-1990s. A two male, two female quartet, they released four Top 30 singles in the UK charts during 1995 and 1996, before splitting up in 1997. Career The band was formed in 1994 by Tom Watkins, who had managed the Pet Shop Boys, 2wo Third3, Bros and East 17; and Kelly O'Keefe who was doing work experience in his office. He admired her distinctive vocals, style and kitsch sensibility, and they decided to put together a boy/girl band with O'Keefe as lead vocalist. O'Keefe was a student of The BRIT School, studying music, and recruited her school friend Lisa Armstrong, a dancer. Watkins then discovered Craig Robert Young and Paul Holmes and the group were formed. Sean Maguire (born 18 April 1976 in Ilford, London) is a British-American actor and singer, who rose to fame in 1988 when at the age of eleven he took on the role of "Tegs" Ratcliffe on the BBC children's drama ''Grange Hill'', in which he remained until 1991. "The Gift of Christmas" is a 1995 charity single by supergroup Childliners, with the proceeds of the single going to Childline. The song was written by Tony Mortimer of East 17. In a similar ilk to "Do They Know It's Christmas?" by Band Aid, the song features popular chart acts such as MN8, Boyzone, East 17, Backstreet Boys, Dannii Minogue, Peter Andre and more. It peaked at number 9 on the UK Singles Chart, number 10 in Ireland and number 7 in Scotland.
