E.118 is an international standard that defines the international telecommunication charge card, for use in payphones, it also defines the Integrated Circuit Card Identifier (ICCID), which is used in SIM cards, including eSIM cards. The standard was first developed in 1988 by what became the Standardization Sector of the International Telecommunication Union (ITU-T) with several revisions having been published since then. History The E.118 standard was first developed by the precursor to the ITU-T, International Telegraph and Telephone Consultative Committee (CCITT, in the French acronym) and it was adopted by its governing body the World Telecommunication Standardization Conference (WTSC), as its 1988 meeting. The ITU Telecommunication Standardization Sector (ITU-T) is one of the three sectors (divisions or units) of the International Telecommunication Union (ITU). It is responsible for coordinating standards for telecommunications and Information Communication Technology such as X.509 for cybersecurity, Y.3172 and Y.3173 for machine learning, and H.264/MPEG-4 AVC for video compression, between its Member States, Private Sector Members, and Academia Members. The North American Numbering Plan (NANP) is a telephone numbering plan for twenty-five regions in twenty countries, primarily in North America and the Caribbean. This group is historically known as World Zone 1 and has the international calling code ''1''. Some North American countries, most notably Mexico, do not participate in the NANP. Mobile Subscription Identification Number
The mobile identification number (MIN) or mobile subscription identification number (MSIN) refers to the 10- digit unique number that a wireless carrier uses to identify a mobile phone, which is the last part of the international mobile subscriber identity (IMSI). The ITU-T Recommendation E.212 defines mobile country codes (MCC) as well as mobile network codes (MNC).
