Džemal Perović ( Albanian: Xhemal Peroviq, Montenegrin Cyrillic: Џемал Перовић, born 1956 in Ulcinj, SR Montenegro, SFRY) is Montenegrin civic and political activist, former member of Parliament of Montenegro. Albanian Language
Albanian ( endonym: or ) is an Indo-European language and an independent branch of that family of languages. It is spoken by the Albanians in the Balkans and by the Albanian diaspora, which is generally concentrated in the Americas, Europe and Oceania. With about 7.5 million speakers, it comprises an independent branch within the Indo-European languages and is not closely related to any other modern Indo-European language. Albanian was first attested in the 15th century and it is a descendant of one of the Paleo-Balkan languages of antiquity. Migo Stijepović
Slavoljub "Migo" Stijepović ( sr-cyrl, Славољуб "Миго" Стијепови; born 2 May 1959 in Titograd, SFR Yugoslavia, now Podgorica, Montenegro) is a Montenegrin politician who was the Minister of Science and Education in Government of Montenegro from 2010 until 2014 and previously a minister without portfolio, between 2008 and 2010. Stijepović was also a Mayor of Podgorica, from 2014 until 2018, when he was replaced by Ivan Vuković. Graduated in Laws by the University of Montenegro Faculty of Law, until 1991 he worked in the economy, when he joined the newly formed Democratic Party of Socialists, which has been in power in Montenegro ever since. 2019 Montenegrin Anti-corruption Protests
In February 2019, protests began in Montenegro against President Milo Đukanović, Prime Minister Duško Marković, and the government led by the ruling Democratic Party of Socialists (DPS), which has been in power since the introduction of multi-party system in 1990. The anti-government protests have been organized by the civil sector of the Montenegrin society, concurrently with the protests in the neighboring Serbia, that had similar goals. Parliamentary elections were held in Montenegro on 16 October 2016. The ruling Democratic Party of Socialists (DPS) remained the largest party, winning 36 of the 81 seats, and subsequently formed a coalition government with the new Social Democrats and national minority parties. The elections were held in the midst of an alleged coup d'état attempt.
