Działdowo Railway Station
Działdowo railway station is a railway station serving the town of Działdowo, in the Warmian-Masurian Voivodeship, Poland. The station is located on the Warsaw–Gdańsk railway, Działdowo–Chojnice railway and Działdowo–Olsztyn railway. The train services are operated by Polish State Railways, PKP, Polregio and Koleje Mazowieckie. Modernisation From 2010 until 2014 the station building and platforms were rebuilt. Also, as part of the modernisation the Local Control Centre in Dzialdowo, which includes a section of railway line No. 9 from Montowa to the border of the province. In November 2011, the station was opened to travellers, and adapted to the needs of people with disabilities. Działdowo
Działdowo (german: Soldau) (Old Prussian: Saldawa) is a town in northern Poland with 20,935 inhabitants as of December 2021, the capital of Działdowo County. As part of Masuria, it is situated in the Warmian-Masurian Voivodeship (since 1999), Działdowo belonged previously to Ciechanów Voivodeship (1975–1998). The town is a major railroad junction connecting the capital city of Warsaw with Gdańsk and Olsztyn to the north. History The first settlement in the vicinity, known as ''Sasinowie'' in Polish and ''Sassen'' in German, was established by the Old Prussians, an indigenous Baltic tribe. The Teutonic Knights conquered the region and built a castle, a wing of which still remains. Warmian-Masurian Voivodeship or Warmia-Masuria Province or Warmia-Mazury Province (in pl, Województwo warmińsko-mazurskie, is a voivodeship (province) in northeastern Poland. Warsaw–Gdańsk Railway
The Warsaw–Gdańsk railway is a Polish railway line, that connects Warsaw with Iława, Malbork, Tczew, Gdańsk and further along the coast to Gdynia. Opening The line was opened in stages between 1852 and 1877. Today's Line 9 was created separately in the Russian zone and German zone. It was built as part of the Prussian Eastern Railway linking Berlin with Königsberg (today's Kaliningrad). The line is double track throughout. The last single-track section between Mikolajki Pomorskie and Malbork was doubled to two tracks in 1967. Polregio (formerly ''Przewozy Regionalne'') is a train operator in Poland, responsible for local and interregional passenger transportation. Each day it runs approximately 3,000 regional trains. In 2002 it carried 215 million passengers. Koleje Mazowieckie
Masovian Railways, in Polish Koleje Mazowieckie, is a regional rail operator in the Masovian Voivodeship of Poland. History The company was founded in 2004 as a joint venture of the Masovian Voivodeship, with 51% shares, and the, then government-owned, PKP Przewozy Regionalne, with 49% shares, to handle local passenger traffic in the Voivodeship. It started operating on 1 January 2005. Since the end of 2007 Masovian Railways has been fully owned by the Masovian Voivodeship.
