Andrew Unger (born November 8, 1979) is a Canadian writer from Steinbach, Manitoba, best known as the author and founder of the Mennonite satire website The Daily Bonnet (along with the collection ''The Best of the Bonnet'') and for the novel ''Once Removed''. Career Before starting the Daily Bonnet, Unger was a contributor to numerous non-fiction publications including '' Geez'', '' CBC.ca'', and ''Ballast'', sometimes publishing under the pen name Andrew J. Bergman. Early in his career, he also wrote and published fiction and poetry, as well as working as a ghostwriter for New York-based Kevin Anderson & Associates. In 2016 Unger founded the Daily Bonnet and, along with his wife Erin Koop Unger, the non-satirical website Mennotoba in 2017. Since 2016, Unger has written more than two thousand Daily Bonnet articles. ''The Daily Bonnet'' is a satirical Mennonite website. It was created by Andrew Unger and launched in May 2016. It features news stories and editorials, with the structure of conventional newspapers, but whose content is contorted to make humorous commentary on Mennonite and Anabaptist issues. The Daily Bonnet has been cited in the Manitoba Legislature and used as an example of Mennonite humour in the Canadian House of Commons in support of a bill to create a Mennonite Heritage Week. A number of viral posts including "Mennonite Biker Gangs Clash with Hells Angels at Sturgis" and "Canada Pays Off Entire Federal Debt One Day After Marijuana Legalization" were fact-checked and listed as "satire" by Snopes and Politifact. Walther Von Dyck
Walther Franz Anton von Dyck (6 December 1856 – 5 November 1934), born Dyck () and later ennobled, was a German mathematician. He is credited with being the first to define a mathematical group, in the modern sense in . He laid the foundations of combinatorial group theory, being the first to systematically study a group by generators and relations. Biography Von Dyck was a student of Felix Klein, and served as chairman of the commission publishing Klein's encyclopedia. Von Dyck was also the editor of Kepler's works. The Russian Mennonites (german: Russlandmennoniten [lit. "Russia Mennonites", i.e., Mennonites of or from the Russian Empire], occasionally Ukrainian Mennonites) are a group of Mennonites who are descendants of Dutch people, Dutch Anabaptists who settled for about 250 years in the Vistula delta in Poland and established colonies in the Russian Empire (present-day Ukraine and Russia's Volga region, Orenburg Governorate, and Western Siberia) beginning in 1789. Perry Rand Dyck (born 1943 in Calgary, Alberta) is the author of the Canadian Politics: Critical Approaches textbook which is used in many Canadian universities, and taught to students studying Political Science, Law, Economics, Women's Studies, Philosophy, Anthropology, Sociology, and History. Since 1993, Dr. Dyck has participated in the organisation of the Laurentian University Model Parliament, an event which has been featured in Maclean's magazine.
