Dust Of Life (2009 Film)
''Dust of Life'', also known in Vietnamese as ''Bui Doi'', is a 2009 film by director Le-Van Kiet, who also wrote the screenplay. Plot Since 1975 millions of Vietnamese boat people have fled for freedom. By 1993 more than half who survived the exodus resided in California. The film portrays the coming of age story of abandoned kids growing up in the new Vietnamese enclave of Orange County, California in the early 1990s, based on true events. Jason Solowsky
Jason Robert Solowsky (born November 9, 1977) is an American music composer for film and television. A classical pianist and guitar player, his compositions can be heard in over 100 films, many of which have been released by Lionsgate, Sony Pictures, Universal Pictures, and Anchor Bay Entertainment among others. Life and career Born in Boston, Massachusetts, Solowsky graduated from Newton South High School in 1995. He earned his bachelor of music degree from Berklee College of Music in both film scoring and composition. He also graduated from the USC Thornton School of Music (Los Angeles, CA) scoring for motion pictures and television program where he studied with film composers such as Christopher Young, Elmer Bernstein and David Raksin. Boat People
Vietnamese boat people ( vi, Thuyền nhân Việt Nam), also known simply as boat people, refers to the refugees who fled Vietnam by boat and ship following the end of the Vietnam War in 1975. This migration and humanitarian crisis was at its highest in 1978 and 1979, but continued into the early 1990s. The term is also often used generically to refer to the Vietnamese people who left their country in a mass exodus between 1975 and 1995 (see Indochina refugee crisis). This article uses the term "boat people" to apply only to those who fled Vietnam by sea. The number of boat people leaving Vietnam and arriving safely in another country totaled almost 800,000 between 1975 and 1995.
