Durjaya (Hindi for "difficult to conquer") was a legendary chieftain of the Andhra kingdom Andhra was a kingdom mentioned in the epics Ramayana & Mahabharata. It was a southern kingdom, currently identified as Indian state of Andhra Pradesh which got its name from. Andhra communities are also mentioned in the Vayu and Matsya Purana .... Many ruling dynasties in Andhra and Telangana, such as the Kakatiyas , Malyalas, Viryalas, the Konakandravadis, the Ivani Kandravadis, the Kondapadumatis, the Paricchedis and the Chagis, are claimed to be his descendants. In the opinion of Bhavaraju Venkata Krishna Rao, he probably flourished in the 3rd century AD. Kakatiya Dynasty
The Kakatiya dynasty (IAST: Kākatīya) was an Indian dynasty that ruled most of eastern Deccan region comprising present day Telangana and Andhra Pradesh, and parts of eastern Karnataka and southern Odisha between 12th and 14th centuries. Their capital was Orugallu, now known as Warangal. Early Kakatiya rulers served as feudatories to Rashtrakutas and Western Chalukyas for more than two centuries. They assumed sovereignty under Prataparudra I in 1163 CE by suppressing other Chalukya subordinates in the Telangana region. Ganapati Deva (r. 1199–1262) significantly expanded Kakatiya lands during the 1230s and brought under Kakatiya control the Telugu-speaking lowland delta areas around the Godavari and Krishna rivers. Kondapadumati
Kondapadumati is the name of a medieval dynasty that resided in the modern day state of Andhra Pradesh, India. They held the Kondapadumati or Sallapaschalya Vishaya, the country to the west of the Kondavidu range of hills, corresponding to the eastern portion of Sattenapalla Talug (of Guntur District) for one and a half centuries. They had their capital at Nadendla not far from Tsandavole, the Velanadu capital. They started off as subordinates to the Chalukya Cholas. The Kondapadumatis secured an important military success over the Kalinga and the Telugu Chodas and were allied to the Velanadu Chodas by marriages.
