Dave Dunmore
David Gerald Ivor Dunmore (18 February 1934 – 11 July 2021) was an English footballer who played as a forward. Career Born in Whitehaven, Cumberland Dunmore first played for York City, before being sold to Tottenham Hotspur for £10,750 in February 1954, which was a record transfer fee received for York at the time. Dunmore had limited opportunities at Tottenham due to competition with Bobby Smith and his commitment to National Service, playing a total of 81 games and scoring 26 goals for the club in all competitions. Dunmore joined West Ham United during the 1959–60 season in an exchange deal that saw Johnny Smith move in the other direction. He made his West Ham debut on 19 March 1960 against Blackburn Rovers, and went on to make 39 appearances for the club, scoring 18 goals. Fred Dunmore
Alfred Dunmore (1 January 1911 – 1991) was an English professional footballer who made one Football League appearance for Southampton in 1932. Football career Dunmore was born in South Shields and was educated at Stanhope Road School, representing County Durham Schools, before joining local club, Simonside, in 1928. He was soon recruited by Newcastle United, firstly joining their third team, before signing a professional contract for the first team in 1928. He failed to make a first-team appearance for Newcastle and moved on to Derby County in April 1930. Still not having made a League appearance, he joined Southampton, of the Football League Second Division in June 1932. He made his only first-team appearance when he replaced Dick Neal as outside right for the match against West Ham United on 24 September 1932. Helen Dunmore FRSL (12 December 1952 – 5 June 2017) was a British poet, novelist, and short story and children's writer. Her best known works include the novels ''Zennor in Darkness'', '' A Spell of Winter'' and ''The Siege'', and her last book of poetry ''Inside the Wave''. She won the inaugural Orange Prize for Fiction, the National Poetry Competition, and posthumously the Costa Book Award. Biography Dunmore was born in Beverley, Yorkshire, in 1952, the second of four children of Betty (''née'' Smith) and Maurice Dunmore. She attended Sutton High School, London and Nottingham Girls' High School, then direct grant grammar schools. She studied English at the University of York, and lived in Finland for two years (1973–75) and worked as a teacher. She lived after that in Bristol. John Dunmore
John Dunmore (born 6 August 1923) is a New Zealand academic, historian, author, playwright, and publisher. Biography Dunmore was born in Trouville-sur-Mer, France, lived in Occupation of the Channel Islands, Jersey under German Occupation during World War II, and then in England, where he received a BA from the University of London. He emigrated to New Zealand in 1950. He completed a PhD under historian John Cawte Beaglehole, J. C. Beaglehole at Victoria University of Wellington in 1962, studying the European and American voyages of scientific exploration#Maritime exploration in the Age of Enlightenment, French contribution to the exploration of the Pacific Ocean in the 18th century. He was Professor of French, Head of the Department of Modern Languages, and Dean (education), Dean of Humanities at Massey University, from which he retired in 1985. Laurence Dunmore is a graphic designer and film director whose first major collaboration was the British production of '' The Libertine'' in 2005. He is a member of Ridley Scott Associates and has directed advertisements for AT&T, BMW, ING and Turkish Airlines. Career Dunmore began his career as a graphic designer studying on the now defunct Media and Production Design Degree (and also as Head of the Student Union in 1984) at the London College of Printing (now London College of Communication) under Brian Grimbley and Anthoney Froshaug. He left the course before completion to work with Howard Brown working for clients such as Richard Curtis (through Faber & Faber), Goldcrest Films and the Post Office, prior to joining Pentagram Design, when Brown became a partner in 1987.
