Dungen
Dungen ("the grove", ) is a Swedish rock band based in Stockholm. Often classified as psychedelic rock, Dungen is also influenced by Swedish (and other) folk music, classic rock, progressive rock, garage rock and alternative rock. The band is fronted by singer/composer Gustav Ejstes, who writes all music and plays the majority of instruments on the band's records. Live, Dungen plays as a four-piece. Ejstes, who in his teens started his songwriting with hip hop, is backed live by Swedish progressive rock veteran Reine Fiske on guitar, bassist Mattias Gustavsson, and drummer Johan Holmegard (who replaced Fredrik Björling), all of whom have played parts on Dungen's studio albums. Ta Det Lugnt
''Ta det lugnt'' ("''Take It Easy''") is the third album by the Swedish psychedelic rock group Dungen. It was produced by Gustav Ejstes, the lead singer and instrumentalist of the band. Ejstes also recorded and mixed the album. It was originally released in 2004 by Subliminal Sounds, and re-issued with the mostly instrumental 5-song EP ''Tyst minut'' in 2005 by Kemado Records. Critical reception ''Ta det lugnt'' received critical acclaim, scoring 88 on Metacritic and making it the website's tenth best album in 2004. In March 2009, it was the 43rd best album overall. Gustav Ejstes
Gustav Ejstes (born 23 December 1979) is a Swedish musician. He is the singer and frontman of the Swedish psychedelic rock band Dungen. Ejstes himselfs plays many of the instruments within his recordings, alongside bandmates Reine Fiske (guitar), Mattias "Tiaz" Gustavsson (bass) and Johan Holmegard (drums). Subliminal Sounds is the record label to which Ejstes returned after a short period with Virgin Records and the record "Stadsvandringar". He has released seven albums with Dungen, notably their album ''Ta Det Lugnt'' (2004), which has been highly acclaimed all over the world. Other works include, ''Tio Bitar'' (2007), ''4 (Dungen album), 4 (2008) and ''Skit i allt'' (2010). Ejstes is also a member of a band called Amason (band), Amason, together with Amanda Hollingby Matsson, Idiot Wind (Amanda Bergman Mattson), Pontus Winnberg, Nils Törnqvist and Petter Winnberg. ''Stadsvandringar'' ("''City Walks''") is the CD version of the Swedish psychedelic rock group Dungen's second album. It was originally released by Subliminal Sounds in 2002 in a limited vinyl edition of 500 copies under the name Dungen 2. The CD version was released that year on Dolores Recordings and contained some alternative tracks. Reine Fiske
Nils Reine Fiske (born 4 October 1972) is a Swedish guitarist, art director and sound engineer at the record label Subliminal Sounds, who put his signature to many prog-rock projects such as Landberk, Morte Macabre, Paatos, Motorpsycho, Elephant9, and Träd, Gräs & Stenar. He is best known for his playing in the band Dungen. Career Fiske was born in Saltsjö-Boo, Sweden. He plays in The Amazing with Christopher Gunrup, has also played with the band Reform, and is a member of Sylvester Schlegel's band The Guild, in addition to those already mentioned. In 2012 he released ''Still Life With Eggplant'' with the band Svenska Kaputt (Fiske, Jonas Kullhammar, Torbjörn Zetterberg and Johan Holmegard). Mexican Summer
Mexican Summer is an independent record label founded in 2009 by Keith Abrahamsson and Andres Santo Domingo. Based in Brooklyn, New York, the label has released recordings from artists including Best Coast, Kurt Vile, Ariel Pink, Allah-Las, Weyes Blood, Connan Mockasin, Jessica Pratt, and Cate Le Bon. The label is named after the song "Mexican Summer" by Marissa Nadler.
