Duncan Siemens
Duncan Siemens (born September 7, 1993) is a Canadian former professional ice hockey defenceman. He was selected in the first round, 11th overall, by the Colorado Avalanche in the 2011 NHL Entry Draft. He played briefly with the Avalanche in the National Hockey League (NHL). Playing career Junior Siemens was raised in Sherwood Park, Alberta. He first played hockey as a bantam with the Sherwood Park Flyers in the Alberta Midget Bantam Hockey League. After two years with the Flyers, Siemens remained in Sherwood and progressed to play midget hockey with the Sherwood Park Kings. Showing a good skating ability for a large frame, Siemens opted to play major junior hockey with the Saskatoon Blades in the Western Hockey League making his debut at the tail end of the 2008–09 season. Colorado Avalanche
The Colorado Avalanche (colloquially known as the Avs) are a professional ice hockey team based in Denver. They compete in the National Hockey League (NHL) as a member of the Central Division in the Western Conference. The American Hockey League (AHL) is a professional ice hockey league based in the United States and Canada that serves as the primary Minor league#Ice hockey, developmental league for the National Hockey League (NHL). Since the 2010–11 AHL season, 2010–11 season, every team in the league has an affiliation agreement with one NHL team. When NHL teams do not have an AHL affiliate, players are assigned to AHL teams affiliated with other NHL teams. The Cleveland Monsters are a professional ice hockey team in the American Hockey League (AHL). The team began play in 2007 as the Lake Erie Monsters and since 2015 has served as the top affiliate of the Columbus Blue Jackets of the National Hockey League (NHL). The Medicine Hat Tigers are a junior ice hockey team in the Western Hockey League (WHL) who play in Medicine Hat, Alberta, Canada. Established in 1970, the team has won two national Memorial Cups, five WHL League Championships and seven Division Titles, and continues to rally for the Cup annually. Starting in the 2015–16 season, the Tigers have begun play at Co-op Place after forty-five seasons at the Medicine Hat Arena.
