Dumaran
Dumaran, officially the Municipality of Dumaran ( tgl, Bayan ng Dumaran), is a 3rd class municipality in the province of Palawan, Philippines. According to the 2020 census, it has a population of 23,528 people. The municipality covers the southern part of the namesake Dumaran Island (where the poblacion is located), as well as a portion on Palawan Island. It is bounded on the north-east by Municipality of Araceli, on the south by Sulu Sea, on the south-west by Roxas, and on the north-west by the municipality of Taytay. Dumaran also celebrate the Kalabukay Festival - Kalabukay refers to a local bird that is common to the people of Dumaran. The Municipality of Dumaran is in rich with natural resources. The majority of the people living in Dumaran are farmers and fishermen. Dumaran Island is an island in the province of Palawan in the Philippines. It is around 34.1 kilometers away from the Palawan mainland and is accessible by pumpboats. The island is administratively divided between the municipalities of Dumaran and Araceli. Both municipalities' ''poblacions'' are located on the island. Dumaran Channel can be found west of the island. The Dalanganem islands can be found northeast of Dumaran. Its antipode is located in Brazil. Araceli, Palawan
Araceli, officially the Municipality of Araceli ( tgl, Bayan ng Araceli), is a 4th class municipality in the province of Palawan, Philippines. According to the 2020 census, it has a population of 14,434 people. The municipality covers roughly the northern half of Dumaran Island. Cuyono is the principal language of the area. Araceli was formerly part of Dumaran Municipality, but was made into a separate municipality in 1961. The Catholic Parish is ''Nuestra Sra. de Araceli'', that can be translated to "Altar of the Sky" (from ''ara'', meaning altar; and ''celi'', meaning sky). Palawan (island)
Palawan is the largest island of the province of Palawan in the Philippines and fifth-largest by area and tenth-most populous island of the country, with a total population of 994,101 as of 2020 census. The north west coast of the island is along the South China Sea, while the south east coast forms part of the northern limit of the Sulu Sea.
