"Dum Da Dum" is a song by Swedish recording artist Melodie MC (a.k.a. Kent Lövgren), released in 1993 by Sidelake Productions and Virgin as the third single from his debut album, ''Northland Wonderland'' (1993). The song is written by Lövgren, featuring female vocals by Mayomi (a.k.a. Pia Sjöberg). It contains a sample from "Feel That Beat" by 2 Static. "Dum Da Dum" was very successful on the singles charts in Europe and Australia, remaining the artist's biggest hit single. In 2009, a new version of the song was released. Chart performance "Dum Da Dum" was successful in both Europe and Australia, becoming a number-two hit in Greece, a number-three hit in Spain, and a number-four hit in the Netherlands for two weeks. Kent Lövgren, () better known as Melodie MC, is a Swedish recording artist, performing as a rapper on Eurodance tracks, who was active in music between 1992 and 1998. Biography He went to school with classmate Erik Svensson (Alias Stattik.) They both shared a passion for music and dance. Melodie MC learnt breakdancing whereas Alias Stattik was involved in computers and synthesizers. Starting with only two keyboards and a computer, they worked together to develop complex sounds and music. As time progressed, Kent moved into the role of vocal artistry for the group. Melodie MC released his first single in 1992, entitled "Feel Your Body Moving", it was followed by many hits and three albums. "We're Down With The Dragons", a track released as single from his first album, was a tribute to the basketball-team Sundsvall Dragons. ''RPM'' ( and later ) was a Canadian music-industry publication that featured song and album charts for Canada. The publication was founded by Walt Grealis in February 1964, supported through its existence by record label owner Stan Klees. ''RPM'' ceased publication in November 2000. ''RPM'' stood for "Records, Promotion, Music". The magazine's title varied over the years, including ''RPM Weekly'' and ''RPM Magazine''. ''Pop & Rock'' ( el, Ποπ & Ροκ; stylized as ') was a Greek magazine, founded in 1978 by Giannis Petridis, Kostas Zougris and Vassos Tsimidopoulos. After its first issue, it became a popular music magazine in Greece. Petridis and Zougris had been thinking about publishing a magazine for a while, but did not have the money to do so. By coincidence, publisher Aris Gritzalis met with Petridis and asked him about publishing a music magazine. Petridis and Zougris were then joined by Tsimidopoulos, who was a close friend of Petridis, and who also wrote in the first issues. The name came about when Tsimidopoulos suggested modelling it from the name of the French magazine ''Rock & Folk'', with Zougris coming up with ''Pop & Rock''. James Hamilton (DJ And Journalist)
James Hamilton (25 December 1942 – 17 June 1996) was a British DJ and dance music columnist for ''Record Mirror'', and later for ''Music Week'', where he worked until his death in 1996. He is recognised as a pioneering advocate of disco mixing in the UK and the addition of beats per minute (bpm) calculations to record reviews. Hamilton started as a DJ in his early 20s, playing rhythm & blues in a nightclubs in London. He then headed to New York to work for Seltaeb, the US company who’d acquired the merchandising rights for The Beatles, becoming a talent scout for their newly formed music division. After returning to the UK, he adopted the DJ name Doctor Soul, and also compiled an album with this title for Sue Records.
