Duke of Segorbe ( es, Duque de Segorbe) is an hereditary title in the peerage of Spain, accompanied by the dignity of Grandee and granted in 1469 by John II of Aragon to Enrique de Aragón, son of Infante Henry, Duke of Villena and Beatriz de Pimentel, from whom the ducal house of Medinaceli descends. Current Duke of Segorbe Ignacio Medina y Fernández de Córdoba succeeded in 1969 as 19th Duke of Segorbe before marrying Princess Maria da Glória de Orléans-Braganza in 1985. The Duke and Duchess of Segorbe have two daughters: * Sol María de la Blanca Medina y Orléans-Braganza, 54th Countess of Ampurias (b. 1986), heiress apparent to her father's titles; * Ana Luna Medina y Orléans-Braganza, 17th Countess of Ricla (b. 1988). Alfonso de Aragón y Portugal, or Alfonso I de Ampurias (Segorbe, 1489–1563), was Count of Ampurias and Duke of Segorbe. Biography He was a son of Enrique de Aragón y Pimentel and Guiomar de Portugal, and succeeded his father as Count of Ampurias and 2nd Duke of Segorbe after his death in 1522. In 1516 he married Duchess Juana I Folch de Cardona, 3rd Duke of Cardona, daughter and heiress of Fernando Ramon Folch, 2nd Duke of Cardona. This made him 3rd Duke-consort of Cardona. He was viceroy of Valencia from 1558 until his death in 1563. In 1555 he became a Knight in the Order of the Golden Fleece. Luis Jesús Fernández de Córdoba y Salabert, 17th Duke of Medinaceli, GE (16 January 1880 – 13 July 1956), was a Spanish nobleman and distinguished hunter. He was born the world's most titled person since his father, the 16th Duke, had died months before in a hunting accident. He was 11 times a duke, 17 a marquess, 15 a count and 4 a viscount. House de la Cerda is a noble line of the Crown of Castile descending from the ''Infante'' Ferdinand de la Cerda, eldest son of King Alfonso X. It was one of four noble lineages that arose directly from the Castilian royal family during the thirteenth century and is the origin of the Dukes of Medinaceli.
