DukeDaGod
DukeDaGod is an American rapper and record producer. He is a member of The Diplomats and the VP of A&R for Diplomat Records. He was born George Moore in Harlem, but is better known by his stage name. He released his first album ''More Than Music, Vol. 1'' in summer of 2005 under Diplomats/Koch Records. Musical career Moore got involved with the music industry when he helped form the hip-hop group Children of the Corn, composed of his childhood friends Cam'ron, Mase, Big L, and Bloodshed. Moore served as the road manager until Bloodshed's untimely death and the group disbanded. Moore had a chance to be an A&R at Roc-A-Fella Records through Dame Dash when the label first started, but Moore declined the position and later hooked up with Cam'ron once again, where he became Diplomat Records' A&R, overseeing all of the Diplomat artists' recording projects. Diplomat Records is an American hip hop record label co-founded by Harlem rappers Jim Jones and Cam'ron. History In the early 2000s, Dipset was very popular for having star rappers with radio hits like Juelz Santana and Cam'ron, as well as their association with Jay-Z and Damon Dash's Roc-A-Fella Records, which was distributed under Def Jam Recordings. This resulted in four studio albums being released under the Dipset/Roc-A-Fella joint venture. In 2005, Dipset moved away from Roc-A-Fella after Jay-Z assumed presidency of Def Jam, which they took issue with. They had already signed to independent music powerhouse MNRK Music Group (formerly Koch/eOne) the year prior. Despite this, Juelz Santana's remained under contract with Def Jam for the time being until 2008 when Cam'ron sold his contract to the label in 2008. Lamont Coleman (May 30, 1974February 15, 1999), known professionally as Big L, was an American rapper and record executive. Emerging from Harlem in New York City in 1992, Coleman became known among underground hip-hop fans for his freestyling ability. He was eventually signed to Columbia Records, where, in 1995, he released his debut album, ''Lifestylez ov da Poor & Dangerous''. On February 15, 1999, Coleman was shot nine times in his East Harlem neighborhood and later died from his injuries.
