Sir Gordon William Duff, (born 27 December 1947) is a British medical scientist and academic. He was Principal of St Hilda's College, Oxford, from 2014 to 2021. He was Lord Florey Professor of Molecular Medicine at the University of Sheffield from 1991 to 2014. Early life and education Duff was born on 27 December 1947. He was educated at Perth Academy, then a state grammar school in Perth, Scotland, and at Hipperholme Grammar School, a school in Hipperholme, Yorkshire, England. Ernest Duff (June 2, 1931 - May 27, 2016) was an American businessman, lawyer and former bishop of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. He was the founder of Southern Tire Mart, a large independent commercial tire dealership in North America. Early life Ernest Ray Duff was born June 2, 1931, in Covington County, Mississippi, the youngest of five children of Carl Melton and Lela May Harvey Duff. His father was a building contractor. Edward Gordon Duff (16 February 1863 – 28 September 1924), known as Gordon Duff, was a British bibliographer and librarian known for his works on early English printing. Career Duff was born in Liverpool on 16 February 1863. He was educated at Cheltenham College and Wadham College, Oxford, where he took a degree in classics in 1887. Duff began work on a catalogue of incunabula in the Bodleian Library but did not finish the project. In 1893 Enriqueta Augustina Rylands appointed Duff her librarian. Terrance Richard Duff (born February 18, 1936) is a Canadian former professional ice hockey forward who played 18 seasons for the Toronto Maple Leafs, Montreal Canadiens, Buffalo Sabres, Los Angeles Kings, and New York Rangers in the National Hockey League (NHL) between 1955 and 1971.
