Dublin GAA Junior Football Championship
The Dublin Junior Football championship is the Junior Gaelic Athletic Association Gaelic football competition of Dublin GAA, Dublin. The winners of the Junior championship go on to qualify for the Dublin Intermediate Football Championship. The winners will also represent Dublin GAA, Dublin in the Leinster Junior Club Football Championship. St Vincent's are the most successful club in the Junior A championship having won the competition on six occasions, with their most recent victory in 2014 beating Craobh Ciarain in the final. New format In 2018, the grading system of Junior Championships was drastically changed. The Dublin Junior Football Championship is divided between Junior 1 and 2. Dublin Junior Football Championship 1, Junior 1 consists of 16 teams who are divided into four groups of four. Ballyboden Wanderers
Wanderers (Irish: ''Fánaithe Bhaile Baodáin'') are a Gaelic Athletic Association club located in Ballyboden, Dublin, Ireland. Background Ballyboden Wanderers G.A.A. Club was founded in 1910. They played their first match against Clanna Gael Fontenoys in April 1910. The match was played by permission of Padraig Mac Piarais in the grounds of Scoil Eanna, Grange Road Rathfarnham. The club won the inaugural Dublin Junior Football Championship in 1928. The club disbanded in 1932 and while there some fixtures played in the intervening years, it was not officially reformed until 1961. Ballyboden St Enda's (''CLG Baile Buadáin Naomh Éanna'' in Irish) is a Gaelic Athletic Association club located in Knocklyon, South Dublin, Ireland. The Club serves the Rathfarnham, Knocklyon, Ballycullen, Ballyboden, Ballyroan, Firhouse areas. They offer hurling, camogie, Gaelic football, handball, and rounders. They were founded in 1969 after the merger of 2 clubs in the Rathfarnham area – the Ballyboden Wanderers (founded 1910) and Rathfarnham St. Endas (founded 1966). St Joseph's/OCB (Irish: ''Naomh Seosamh, BUC'') are an amateur athletic club located in the North Inner city of Dublin, Ireland. They are the last remaining Gaelic Athletic Association club in the area. The club is an amalgamation of two clubs: St Joseph's of East Wall and O’Connell Boys of North Wall. St Joseph's were founded in 1918 and rose to prominence, especially in the 1920s and 1930s, albeit with intermittent objections; St Joseph's also produced a continuing stream of inter-county players. O’Connell Boys were established in 1964, as a club for the former members of the O’Connell Boys Youth Club in Seville Place, Dublin. However, changes to the inner city in the latter half of the 20th century – population decline, unemployment, and school closings – caused a corresponding decline in membership for both clubs. Round Towers Lusk is a Gaelic Athletic Association club based at Lusk, County Dublin, Ireland, serving Lusk and its surrounding areas. Fingallians is a Gaelic Athletic Association club in Swords, County Dublin, Ireland. Founded in 1884, Fingallians are one of the oldest clubs in Dublin and they are based at Lawless Memorial Park. History The club caters for Gaelic football, hurling, Ladies football and camogie, at all age groups. They currently play football in the Dublin Intermediate Football Championship, having been relegated from the senior grade in 2011. They have never won the Dublin Senior Football Championship but won the Intermediate Championship in 1957. Lucan Sarsfields (Irish: ''Sáirséalaigh Leamhcáin'' ) is a Gaelic Athletic Association club based in Lucan, Dublin, Ireland. It was founded in 1886, making it one of the oldest GAA clubs in Dublin. Sarsfields were one of 16 teams which contested the Dublin Senior Championship in 1887. They were also involved in the Senior Championship of 1892, and the club has fielded Gaelic football, hurling and camogie teams ever since. Early success Lucan won the Intermediate Football League in the 1904–05 season. It is reported that they did this with the help of five players from Balbriggan. The story goes that in 1902 a team call Balbriggan Wanderers won the Intermediate League and then for some reason or other went out of existence in 1904. Naul (, also known as "The Naul"), is a village, townland, and civil parish at the northern edge of Fingal and the traditional County Dublin in Ireland. The Delvin River to the north of the village marks the county boundary with County Meath. Naul civil parish is in the historic barony of Balrothery West. St Brigid's GAA Club (Irish: Cumann Naomh Bríd) is a Gaelic Athletic Association club based in Castleknock, Fingal, Ireland which serves Castleknock, Clonsilla, Blanchardstown and Corduff.
