Dualtone Records is an American record label specializing in folk, Americana, and indie rock. It was founded in 2001 by Scott Robinson and Dan Herrington. The company is run by Robinson and the label's president, Paul Roper. Albums are distributed by the Alternative Distribution Alliance. On January 20, 2016, Entertainment One acquired Dualtone Records. Later, Dualtone's parent company eOne Music was acquired by The Blackstone Group in June 2021, with eOne Music rebranded as MNRK Music Group in September 2021. History Dualtone has been nominated for sixteen Grammy Awards, winning four. The label celebrated its 20th year in 2021. First year in business brought a number 2 hit at country radio for David Ball's "Riding with Private Malone". The album ''Amigo'' went on to sell over 350,000 copies. MNRK Music Group (pronounced "monarch", formerly known as Koch Records and eOne Music) is a New York City-based independent record label and music management company. It was formed in 2009 from the music assets of Koch Entertainment, which had been acquired by the present-day Entertainment One (eOne) in 2005. In April 2021, after the acquisition of eOne by Hasbro, the company announced that it would sell eOne Music to The Blackstone Group. It owns the libraries of Artemis Records, Dualtone Records, and Last Gang Records. History eOne as a whole has its origins in the music distributor Records on Wheels, which was acquired by the Canadian retail chain CD Plus in 2001 to expand its wholesale business. Amos Lee (born Ryan Anthony Massaro, June 20, 1977) is an American singer-songwriter whose musical style encompasses folk, rock, and soul. He was born in Philadelphia and graduated from the University of South Carolina with a degree in English. After working as a schoolteacher and bartender he began to pursue a career in music. His manager Bill Eib, an artist manager and new artist development agent, submitted a demo recording to Blue Note Records which resulted in a recording contract and association with singer Norah Jones. The Wild Reeds
The Wild Reeds are an American indie band based in Los Angeles, California. History The founding members of the Wild Reeds were its three multi-instrumentalist singer-songwriters, Mackenzie Howe, Kinsey Lee and Sharon Silva. They first met as concertgoers at the West Hollywood club the Troubadour when they were students: Howe and Silva at Azusa Pacific University, and Lee at Glendora's Citrus College. Each of them had already begun to perform as amateur solo artists at open-mic events and at college parties. Their friendship led to their supporting one another as backing singers. Wild Child is an American indie pop band from Austin, Texas formed in 2010. The band consists of Kelsey Wilson (lead vocals and violin), Alexander Beggins (lead vocals and baritone ukulele), Sadie Wolfe (cello), Tyler Osmond (bass), Matt Bradshaw (keyboard and trumpet), Cody Ackors (guitar and trombone), and Tom Myers (drums). The Dip (band)
The Dip is a pop, rhythm and blues band that was formed in 2013 by jazz music students at the University of Washington in Seattle. The band combines a typical pop instrumentation with a 3-part horn section. They have released three full-length albums as well as two instrumental EPs. History Band members Jarred Katz, Mark Hunter and Tom Eddy shared a house near the University of Washington, where they would play songs on guitar together, occasionally joined by their friend Jacob Lundgren. A trio known as the Honeynut Horns (Brennan Carter, Evan Smith, and Levi Gillis) lived across the alley and would play jazz songs on their balcony. The two groups came together to form The Dip. The Lone Bellow is an American musical group from Brooklyn, New York City. History The Lone Bellow began as a songwriting project for Zach Williams, whose wife had suffered temporary paralysis following a horseback riding accident. During his wife's recovery, Williams coped with the experience by writing in a journal. At the urging of his friends, Williams learned how to play the guitar and turned his journal entries into songs. Following his wife's recovery, the couple moved to New York City.
