Drop (Thee Oh Sees Album)
''Drop'' is the fifteenth studio album by American psychedelic rock band Thee Oh Sees, released on April 15, 2014 on Castle Face Records. Primarily a collaboration between core member John Dwyer and regular collaborator Chris Woodhouse, the album is the ninth to be released under the name, Thee Oh Sees. The album was released following initial plans for Thee Oh Sees to take "a well deserved break," and was recorded during a "transitional period" for the band. It did not feature contributions from then-band members Brigid Dawson (vocals, keyboard), Petey Dammit (bass, guitar) and Mike Shoun (drums), and, following the album's release, Dwyer reconfigured Thee Oh Sees line-up into a three piece featuring himself, bass guitarist Tim Hellman and drummer Nick Murray for ''Drop''s accompanying tour. Thee Oh Sees
Osees are an American rock band formed in San Francisco, California in 1997, now based in Los Angeles, California. The band currently consists of primary songwriter and core member John Dwyer (vocals, guitar), Tim Hellman (bass), Dan Rincon (drums), Paul Quattrone (drums) and Tomas Dolas (keyboards). Osees sound incorporates a wide range of rock genres, including 1960s garage rock and psychedelic rock, punk rock, noise rock, art punk, and 1980s post-punk. Petey Dammit, often stylized as Petey Dammit!, is an American guitarist and bass guitarist. He is best known as a former member of the garage rock band Thee Oh Sees, with whom he recorded six studio albums. From 2014 to 2015 he performed with the post-punk band The Intelligence. Sic Alps
Sic Alps were an American garage rock band from San Francisco, California. Formed in 2004 by Mike Donovan and Adam Stonehouse, they released music on Siltbreeze, Drag City, Woodsist and several other independent record labels. After signing with Siltbreeze, the group, at this point a duo consisting of Donovan and Matt Hartman, released ''U.S. EZ'' in 2008. A full-length was released on Drag City early in 2011. Following the band's break-up in 2013, individual members moved on to other projects. Mikal Cronin
Michael "Mikal" Patrick Cronin (born 1985) is an American musician and songwriter. He has released four solo albums and several singles. Cronin was a member of the bands Okie Dokie, Epsilons, Party Fowl and Moonhearts, and is a regular and longtime member of Ty Segall's live band, contributing bass guitar, backing vocals and saxophone; he has also released an album and a single in collaboration with Segall. Cronin earned his Bachelor of Fine Arts in music from California Institute of the Arts. Rademacher (band)
Rademacher is an indie rock band from Fresno, California. They have toured the West Coast with bands including Silversun Pickups, The Joggers, Earlimart, and Man Man. They released three EPs between 2004 and 2006, as well as their first full-length album in December 2007. The final disc of their three-album Baby Hawk trilogy was released on March 6, 2012. Rademacher was featured in ''Billboard'' magazine under the heading: "Unsigned artists with the potential to break into the big time." Rademacher's music was also featured on the television show Icons which airs on the G4 network. The band released their first full-length album, ''Stunts'', on December 4, 2007. Nick Murray (musician)
Nick Murray is an American drummer. He is best known as a member of the garage rock band White Fence, and as a former member of Thee Oh Sees, with whom he recorded two studio albums. Murray has also been a frequent collaborator of Tim Presley (White Fence), as well as Welsh singer-songwriter Cate Le Bon, contributing to her solo album, ''Mug Museum'' (2013) and with 'DRINKS' (2015), a collaborative project with White Fence's Tim Presley and Cate Le Bon. Murray has also toured with Mikal Cronin and Gold Star. Brigid Dawson
Brigid Dawson sang and played keyboard and tambourine for Thee Oh Sees. She is noted for her "whimsical" harmonies and is credited with helping front man John Dwyer write melodies. Reviewing a show they played in New York, Impose Magazine wrote, "Brigid Dawson's backing vocals are the band's silver lining". Soundscapes noted in an album review, "Once again, Dwyer’s secret weapon is Brigid Dawson, whose vocal interplay gives them a leg-up in the male-dominated garage rock scene." Her voice has been compared to Kim Deal and Exene Cervenka, among others. Brigid occasionally performed as "Mix Tapes" with Meric Long of The Dodos. She is a UK native by way of San Marin.
