Dromoland Castle ( ga, Drom Ólainn) is a castle, located near Newmarket-on-Fergus in County Clare, Ireland. It is operated as a five-star luxury hotel with a golf course, with its restaurant, the "Earl of Thomond", being awarded a Michelin star in 1995, under head chef Jean Baptiste Molinari. Hotel Dromoland Castle was bought by United States citizen Bernard P. McDonough in 1962. It has since then been converted for use as a luxury hotel. Newmarket-on-Fergus, historically known as Corracatlin (), is a town in County Clare, Ireland. It is 13 kilometres from Ennis, 8 kilometres from Shannon Airport, and 24 kilometres from Limerick. Jean Baptiste Molinari
Jean Baptiste Molinari (born 25 April) is a French head chef, who worked as an executive chef at Dromoland Castle in Newmarket-on-Fergus, County Clare, Ireland, and now is chef de cuisine at Compass Group, a British food contracting service. He won a Michelin star in 1995. Biography Molinari was born into a culinary family: his grandfather worked in the kitchens of Auguste Escoffier, and his father was also a well-known chef, who worked, amongst others, in England and Scotland. Molinari started his career in Hôtel de Paris Monte-Carlo in Monaco, where he was quickly promoted from 3rd commis chef to chef de partie. George Richard Pain
George Richard Pain (1793 – 26 December 1838) was born into a family of English architects. His grandfather was William Pain, his father James Pain and his brother also James Pain, James. George Richard served as an apprentice architect to John Nash (architect), John Nash of London. George Richard and James were commissioned by the Board of First Fruits to design churches and glebe houses in Ireland. He settled in Cork (city), Cork, Ireland. Many of his designs were produced in collaboration with his brother James Pain who practiced in Limerick. Biography Pain arrived in Ireland circa 1816, about five years after his brother James. James Pain (1779 – 13 December 1877) was an English architect. Born into a family of English architects, his grandfather was William Pain, his father James Pain and his brother George Richard Pain.
