''Drive-Thru Booty'' is the debut album by British band Freak Power, fronted by musician, record producer and songwriter Norman Cook (later known as Fatboy Slim), singer, songwriter and trombone player Ashley Slater and vocalist Jesse Graham. It was released in April 1994. Singles The album includes the singles "Turn On, Tune In, Cop Out", which originally reached number 29 in the UK Singles Chart in 1993, and "Rush", which reached number 62 in 1994. Freak Power
Freak Power was a band founded by bassist Norman Cook (later known as Fatboy Slim), Ashley Slater (the trombonist with the anarchic British jazz big band Loose Tubes), and vocalist Jesse Graham, also known as "the Bass Cadet". Their music was a mix of acid jazz, funk, soul, and trip hop. Although not credited, the London-based session bass player Dale Davis recorded bass and guitar on their debut album ''Drive-Thru Booty''. Discography The single " Turn On, Tune In, Cop Out" was a minor hit on the UK Singles Chart when released in 1993. Norman Quentin Cook (born Quentin Leo Cook, 31 July 1963), also known by his stage name Fatboy Slim, is an English musician, DJ, and record producer who helped to popularise the big beat genre in the 1990s. In the 1980s, Cook was the bassist for the Kingston upon Hull, Hull-based indie rock band the Housemartins, who achieved a UK number-one single with their a cappella cover of "Caravan of Love". After the Housemartins split up, Cook formed the electronic band Beats International in Brighton, who produced the number-one single "Dub Be Good to Me". He then played in Freak Power, Pizzaman (band), Pizzaman, and the Mighty Dub Katz with moderate success. Ashley Slater
Ashley Slater (born 1961) is a British trombone player and best known for his narration on the television series Boo! as well as his work with Norman Cook (a.k.a. Fatboy Slim) in the band Freak Power. Career In 1983 after leaving the army, Slater attended the National Centre for Orchestral Studies, after which he joined the jazz orchestral collective Loose Tubes. "Turn On, Tune In, Cop Out" is a song by Norman Cook's acid jazz group, Freak Power, released in October 1993 as the debut single from their first album, ''Drive-Thru Booty'' (1994).
