Drifters (TV Series)
''Drifters'' is a British sitcom created by Jessica Knappett. It stars Knappett, Lydia Rose Bewley, and Lauren O'Rourke. ''Drifters'' follows the lives of cousins Meg and Bunny (Knappett and Bewley) and their friend Laura (O’Rourke) who live in Leeds following their graduation from university. E4 broadcast four series, between 2013 and 2016. History The series first aired on E4 on 31 October 2013. On 9 May 2014, Channel 4 announced they had ordered a second series of ''Drifters''. The new series began airing on E4 on 23 October 2014 and concluded on 27 November 2014. It began transmission on 23 October 2014, with each episode of the series premièring a week before its initial E4 broadcast on 4oD. Sitcom
A sitcom, a portmanteau of situation comedy, or situational comedy, is a genre of comedy centered on a fixed set of characters who mostly carry over from episode to episode. Sitcoms can be contrasted with sketch comedy, where a troupe may use new characters in each sketch, and stand-up comedy, where a comedian tells jokes and stories to an audience. Sitcoms originated in radio, but today are found mostly on television as one of its dominant narrative forms. A situation comedy television program may be recorded in front of a studio audience, depending on the program's production format. The effect of a live studio audience can be imitated or enhanced by the use of a laugh track. Critics disagree over the utility of the term "sitcom" in classifying shows that have come into existence since the turn of the century. A protagonist () is the main character of a story. The protagonist makes key decisions that affect the plot, primarily influencing the story and propelling it forward, and is often the character who faces the most significant obstacles. Gap Year
A gap year, also known as a sabbatical year, is typically a year-long break before or after college/university during which students engage in various educational and developmental activities, such as travel or some type of regular work. Gap years usually occur between high school and college, or after graduating from college and before entry into graduate school.
