Dreams In A Drawer
''Dreams in a Drawer'' ( it, I sogni nel cassetto) is a 1957 Italian romantic drama film written and directed by Renato Castellani and starring Lea Massari. Plot Mario and Lucia, two young students from the University of Pavia, fall in love. Lucia's father decides that the girl interrupts her studies and returns to the country waiting for the wedding, to be celebrated after Mario's graduation. The two young men therefore decide to get married. Their happiness will be short-lived: Lucia will die in giving birth to a girl. Renato Castellani
Renato Castellani (4 September 1913 in Varigotti, Liguria – 28 December 1985 in Rome) was an Italian film director and screenwriter. Early life Son of a representative of Kodak, he was born in Varigotti, a hamlet at the time of Final Pia, which became Finale Ligure (Savona) in 1927, where his mother had returned from Argentina to give birth to his son. He spent his childhood in Argentina, in the city of Rosario. After 12 years, he returned to Liguria and resumed his studies in Genoa. He moved to Milan, where he graduated from the Polytechnic University in architecture. In Milan he met Livio Castiglioni and together they aired for GUF (Fascist University Group) ''L'ora radiofonica'' and ''La fontana malata'' by Aldo Palazzeschi, experimenting with new techniques for sound editing on radio. Lea Massari
Lea Massari, born Anna Maria Massetani (born 30 June 1933) is an actress and singer from Italy. Massari was born Anna Maria Massetani in Rome, but changed her name to Lea Massari when she was 22 after the death of her fiancé Leo. She studied architecture in Switzerland. Massari became known in art cinema for two roles: the missing girl Anna in Michelangelo Antonioni's ''L'avventura'' (1960), and as Clara, the mother of a sexually precocious 14-year-old boy named Laurent ( Benoît Ferreux) in Louis Malle's ''Murmur of the Heart'' (1971). Massari worked in both Italian and French cinema. Roman Vlad (29 December 1919 – 21 September 2013) was a Romanian-born Italian composer, pianist, and musicologist. Sergio Tòfano (20 August 1886 – 28 October 1973) was an Italian actor, director, playwright, scene designer and illustrator. Tofano was born in Rome. In 1909, he made his first appearance on stage with Ermete Novelli, then joined Virgilio Talli's company (1913–23). Carlo D'Angelo (February 2, 1919 – June 9, 1973) was an Italian actor and voice actor. Guglielmo Inglese (24 November 1892 – 14 January 1972) was an Italian actor, radio personality and playwright.
