''Dreams for the Dying'' is the second album by American deathrock band Shadow Project, released in late 1992 by Triple X Records. Production The album was recorded during the 1992 Los Angeles riots. Because of the curfew the band was in lockdown at the studio. This tension reflected on to the album, coupled by the fact that Eva O. and Rozz Williams "were at the height of our hatred of everything: the world, ourselves, each other, the world, everything that was going on". Former Triple X A&R Director Bruce Duff thought this was "one of the most genuinely evil records ever recorded". Themes Rozz Williams continued to deal with some his favorite subjects in this record, such as death ("Funeral Rites"), religion ("Static Jesus," "Thy Kingdom Come") and violence ("Knight Stalker"). Shadow Project
Shadow Project was an alternative rock/goth metal band formed in 1987 featuring former members of Los Angeles deathrock groups Christian Death and Super Heroines. After recording two LP records the group experienced a three-year hiatus, reconvening for a third and final album. Shadow Project definitively folded after vocalist Rozz Williams committed suicide on April 1, 1998. The band briefly returned in 2019 under the moniker "Shadow Project 1334" for 13 shows only, vowing to never perform again together after that. Shadow Project Albums
A shadow is a dark area where light from a light source is blocked by an opaque object. It occupies all of the three-dimensional volume behind an object with light in front of it. The cross section of a shadow is a two- dimensional silhouette, or a reverse projection of the object blocking the light. Point and non-point light sources A point source of light casts only a simple shadow, called an "umbra". For a non-point or "extended" source of light, the shadow is divided into the umbra, penumbra, and antumbra. The wider the light source, the more blurred the shadow becomes. The piccolo oboe, also known as the piccoloboe and historically called an oboe musette (or just musette), is the smallest and highest pitched member of the oboe family. Hole was an American alternative rock band formed in Los Angeles, California in 1989. It was founded by singer Courtney Love and guitarist Eric Erlandson. It had several different bassists and drummers, the most prolific being drummer Patty Schemel, and bassists Kristen Pfaff (d. 1994) and Melissa Auf der Maur. Paris Anthony Sadonis (born May 6, 1972) is a Los Angeles-based keyboardist, painter, performance artist and musician. History Best known for his work alongside Rozz Williams, Eva Ortiz and Jill Emery with deathrock band Shadow Project. He is featured on the 1991 self-titled "Shadow Project", "Dreams for the Dying", "Dead Babies/Killer" single, as well as the live "In Tuned Out - Live '93" released in 1994. Ricardo "Richard" Leyva Muñoz Ramirez (; February 29, 1960 – June 7, 2013), dubbed the Night Stalker, the Valley Intruder (as his attacks were first clustered in the San Gabriel Valley), and the Walk-in Killer was an American serial killer and sex offender whose crime spree took place in California between June 1984 and August 1985.
